SL, I think it has to do with groupthink, like so much on the left. Any person who seriously analyzes this will accept they should support conservatives. They have, I think, confused independent thought for contrarianism. If they criticize Israel, that proves (to them and to their friends)how large-minded they are.

I will never be able to understand why so many folks seem unable to recognize the pure hucksterism that promotes Democrat Party "values."

A liberal once asked me what was the difference between the two parties

I said that both parties want better schools .. better health insurance .. better care for the elderly . both wanted Social Security when they retire .. blah .. blah .. blah

But the Difference IMO was the Conservatives believed in Personal Responsibility where as Liberal believe that it's better to write a check (taxes) to the Government and let them take care of it

Liberals are just lazy and rather have other people fix their problems

Did that make sense??

OK .. BBL

That makes sense Mo but they (Liberals) also have no morals. Although a lot of people think morals are a matter of opinion. Ya know what I mean tho. A conservative would not (a REAL) Conservative would have impeached and REMOVED Clinton for example.

"They have, I think, confused independent thought for contrarianism"

I don't know. Just cruise FR to see some of the most contrary folks God ever created. I think contrariness is a logical by-product of independent thinking. With the liberals, there doesn't seem to be anything logical about them. They may appear to be contrary, but I think they're really just whining malcontents that just don't know any other way to behave.

I think that conservatives want BETTER schools. Liberals want more governmental control of children and, by association, of parents. If the schools were actually made better, the demonRats would become extinct because they wouldn't have the necessary pool of of gullible and ignorant constituents.

Val, I got Paint Shop Pro installed on my computer. Haven't worked with it yet though. Just barely started on one of the books. I'll probably have a few questions for you before I'm done.

I'm so sleepy this afternoon. Must be all that sleep I've lost this week. Either that, or the thought of reading these 2 books (one of them is huge) is zoning me out.

Hi Nully and all. I had a late lunch of corned beef sandwiches from leftovers and fell asleep - then had a lot of work here to finish up. Now the kids are eating dinner. I'm still not hungry.
So, it looks like the great discussion of ALL morning is gone -- I'm going back to the old thread to review it.

There is a BIG difference between leaving of your own volition, and slinking away in retreat.

The difference between giving up without a fight and losing a fight -- it's defeatism1 or defeatism2. BIG difference.
