you have a talent for bringing joy
your posts lift my spirits
yes, you are right those eyes are impatient
of course eagles must be superb flyers
but if winds are that strong
her mate may be bucking headwind to get home
plus have to navigate landing
I never thought to consider flying conditions
westy flew in airplanes during war, then built airplanes for Boeing
darksheare was pilot
and Fred Mertz too
you are pilot too
ac was navy (that's why this is pirate ship)
Love, Palo

It is just horrid out. I let the horses come in again for a few hours around midday to dry off, but they are back out in it now... Which they probably prefer to being cooped up to long. They have their rain-coats on.

I am dog-sitting another labrador now for a week. He belongs to a friend who is going on a trip. He is old too, but not as old as mine. Seems older though, because he is ailing, and came with a bag full of medications. Has some kind of cancer, and arthritis, which is being treated. Treatments seem to be keeping him comfortable, because he is doing a little bit of cavorting with my young dog at the moment. Four dogs is a lot of dogs to have fighting for space under my desk.

I am a has-been flight instructor in little planes. Went to commercial pilot school to be an airline pilot, and becamse a flight instructor to build experience, but found a better-paying job one winter and never went back to flight instructing. Sometimes I regret that, but life is too short to dwell on that. Now it is just another expensive hobby I guess. Maybe someday if I win the lottery or marry for money, I can afford to flight instruct for fun again.

in college guy took me out on date in two seater airplane
(from Titerboro airport)
(where john john took off from)
it gave me stomach ache
he was only taking lessons, maybe with experienced flyer I would have enjoyed the flight
I love flying in commercial airplanes and getting to see everything
I got to see Pyramid Lake which was very interesting

Well, if he took you up, he was at least experienced enough to have his license. (one would hope!) There are good days to fly, and bad ones... It can be bumpy out, which can upset the tummies of the unconditioned flier. Then again, as you suspect, maybe your young lover was just not a very smooth operator.

Men with money are plenty lovable! - Fine, if it doesn't happen, I shall continue to toil for my own money, and lead a less exciting life than that of a wealthy socialite who entertains herself as a flight instructor in little planes.

Don't knock earth tones & muddy greens/drab browns. Some of us here can't wear anything brighter or more colorful. I myself don't look so good in anything other than: Grey, brown, black, blue, tan, khaki, BDU's. Has something to do with my strange pale complexion. I look pale in black, but when I wear white or anything light colored, like pastel blue, I look kinda..... er, dark.

On another note... Anyone know what it means when you get repeatedly told your personal 'critter' is a crow?

rofl rofl rofl you are so funny
I wasn't attracted to him, but I liked him as friend
I knew him from highschool (we hung out in same playground)
he was going to NYU to be psychologist, I musta already been hippy and school teaching, cause I bumped into him on street in East Village
I was so excited when he invited me to go flying
I never saw him after that lol
the stomach ache was no fun
he was a nice guy tho
as a kid (during summer vacations in mountains) I watched the seaplanes always land on lake and wanted to be in one of them
I guess I was always attracted to flying

hi darksheare
I'm not knocking earthtones
I love them
but poor al gore was so miserable, so confused, so upset and out of his wits
I couldn't bear to watch his unhappy face
I think it would have been better if he wore blue -- it would have soothed him and brought him peace
lemme get back to you on crow, I have to think for a minute
Love, Palo

I had to get up and tend to dogs for a bit, so I wondered if I had missed any changes in shift... is this our same sitter? - is the other having a rough day hunting? Wouldn't doubt it... even the field mice are indoors today... best best would be fish, who don't care if it is raining. But here I am giving hunting advice to eagles.

I didn't see anyone return
fishing is good advice lol
I notice when I am swimmin' in public pool here
even if is hailing, cold, windy, raining, sleeting
I can swim underwater and be protected from elements
I bet everyone else is seeking refuge from weather

I just thought he looked twisted normally.... Hmmm.
I was joking with you, but I have been asked why I don't wear red, yellow or other such. Simple answer is: I can't. Longer answer: You can't hide in the shadows wearing red!!!

(Once upon a time, this was a necessary evil. I was very good at it too. Made the mistake of teaching one of my ex's the tricks of that trade....... )

Some sentries were walking down an outer hallway when the wall between them was blasted down by a rending fire. Their eyes told them that two figures came through it at that time as well. In all honesty, they stood there stupidly and watched as the figures stood up and started swinging at each other with fists and anything else at hand. The shorter of the two was being rather surprisingly agile and physical for someone his size. The look on his face made it clear that he was determined to make this fight count. He was muttering names in a memorized list as his fists, feet, forehead, and elbows made contact....
Karsh was very unhinged by the sudden appearance of the Archon, that much was obvious. Abilene wondered about the mental aspects of coming face to face with the one who was responsible for one's death. She backed up as the two rumbled on by, destroying almost anything not nailed down in their collective paths. Ghost though she was, she didn't want to be in the middle of that. Neither combatant spoke much, except that list of names.
"Remember? Remember your blood crimes? Necromancer? " Karsh shook the Archon furiously in one hand. The old necromancer tried to poke Karsh with a knife, but failed in his attempt. He was simply too slow. Karsh had already given him a toss towards the next intersection of halls. A small wave of his hand, and a chair shot towards the Archon along the floor, scooping him up for a ride straight back towards Karsh. Karsh stepped forward and revealed what was in his hands as he turned into the swing. His sword was ringing as if alive as it clove the chair in half. The Archon had ducked under the slash, but lost a few inches of hair in the process. He grabbed his shorn locks in disbelief. He was too slow again, Karsh grabbed him and brought him down on his knee as if to break him in half. The Archon seemed impervious to that kind of damage, as did Karsh himself. But it was soothing to abuse the old necromancer that way... A swift uppercut sent the Archon into the air a foot or three, where he was grabbed and thrown into the floor. He stood up, and brought his own weapon to bear. A quick backhand, then downward strike, and Karsh's head snapped upward, then downward. The Archon smiled, he hoped this was good enough.
It wasn't. Karsh looked back up, he had three lines across his face from the spikes on the Archon's gauntlet. His hand touched the cuts, and he looked at his fingers. At the same time as the Archon stood gloating, Karsh's sword was whipping in a short arc overhead. The Archon noticed and finally moved in time. He put his gauntlet in the way. Steel met steel, and the gauntlet was destroyed. The Archon screamed as his arm burned. He didn't notice a boot coming straight at him as he was too busy trying to put out the flames.

Back in the room, Rathe and Arselen were having their own heart-to-heart with a new intruder. Rathe knew him well. It was his brother. The Archon had brought him along to make his own trouble. And Rathe knew that Rollo could make plenty of trouble.
"Father would like it if you would come with us, dear brother." the last two words were more sneered than spoken. It was also more of a command than a request. Even if it was a request, Rathe had no intention of going back to Karant and being a slave to necromancy. He also had an urgent wish to live. So he gave his brother the only answer that he could.
Rathe's black sword blade came down as hard as he could swing it. Rollo stumbled backwards a few feet in surprise. His own sword was stinging his hand from that hit. He blinked. He had hoped that it would come to blows, but never in his dreams had he thought it would be like this. The one person who could make this a sure loss for him was busy fighting down the hall... as the sounds of destruction attested. He smiled and stepped closer to Rathe and Arselen with a venemous smile on his face. He wondered what kind of slave to make his 'half-sister'.....
