eagle in nest has wet head
I wondered if it was raining by you
eagle doesn't look happy

For some odd reason, even tho I do much on the computer, I just like using the old paper form for my income tax, and like to get the check in the mail, instead of direct deposit...dont know why I am like this with the income tax, some odd quirk...
The whole thing drives my husband crazy...he likes to do things way in advance, and I, on the other hand, let things go till the last minute...sometimes that causes friction, but he does indulge me on this income tax thing...
In the days when we had kids at home, and mortgage and credit card interest, and sometimes even got the earned income credit, we would file immediately...but those days are long gone, and we are dealing in minute sums of money, so for some reason, it just seems unimportant, and nagging problem to be dealt with at the last minute...

It has finally stopped raining here, but I agree, I looked at the eagles, and the one sitting in the nest sure does look somewhat wet...but I wonder, dont birds have somewhat waterproof feathers...I would not want them to be soaking wet, while roosting on the eggs...would be uncomfortable....
Is Bill getting all ready for his caving weekend, and is he excited? I bet he will have a good time...
My husband is getting ready to go back to Chicago for two weeks, for his friends annual Memorial Day Picnic...every year, he invites me to go along, and every year I decline the invitation...I like a little time to my own...I can do what I like, when I like, and dont have to worry about the hubbys work schedule, and preparing his meals, and trying to make sure he is up in time and in fine fiddle...its kinds of like a little mini vacation for me, when all I have to worry about is me and Dizzy...
Besides, when the hubby returns from his trip, hes always quite upbeat and chipper, and always has lots of souvenirs for himself and he always makes sure he buys me a few things....
So Monday, he will go to the travel agency and get his ticket, he will let them find him the best price deal...its pretty cheap to fly back to Chicago from Washington State, and then he stays with his best friend, who is divorced, so the two men have a good time together...
The hubby and I will take a vacation together in October, probably go down to Northern California to visit my many relatives down there....

hi sweetie
yes, Anne is driving Brian over here momentarily
we rushed back from swimmin' pool to be on time
Bill spent all yesterday evening and this morning preparing and packing
I have a lump in my throat from missing him already
but I figure he'll be home tomorrow night
he was so busy packing everything up for trip
when we got to pool he forgot to take his suit
I asked lifeguard if one was left in lost and found
she brought one out
so he got to swim after all
sweet mercies, Bill got to swim and my email is workin'
(happy smile here)
Love, Palo

Since 9.11, I'm even worse than usual about blowing things off - much worse, and it really doesn't make all that much difference - I hope.
Mrs. lodwick's dad was a career AirForce officer, so her upbringing was "everything in its place" and be ready to move the family every two years or so. After almost 24 years, I'm bringing her around to my way of thinking - she almost believes that October 15th is the proper time for tax filing. ;-)

How funny...yes the military has a great influence on how one acts in life...now my hubby was full time military for 10 years and 17 years reserve...so he has a good deal of that military way of thinking...even tho I and the kids were with him during his military time, we resisted...never lived in govt. housing, always prefered to just live in areas mixed with civilians and military....sometimes shopped on base, but often shopped in civilian stores more...just tried to keep the military at arms length, while still supporting the hubby in his career...
I guess I just did not want the kids to become too used to military way of life, but rather a more balance between military and civilian....
And we did not even have the ever frequent moves that so many did...because the hubby was Airborne, and very few bases have Airborne components, so you usually get to stay longer than the 'legs' at any given base...
But I will say, the military life was quite the experience...and we are grateful that we had that experience...

I am glad you and Bill got your swim in, and now Bill is off for his caving...I think when the men go off on their own for a while, they always come back refreshed...at least, after so many years of marriage, thats how I feel...time away from each other can be a good thing...makes you appreciate what you have, when you get back to it...

We are certainly enjoying all your little tidbits of information...it invades our dreams...

Thanks for the report, and thank Mr. mom for his service. And thank you for your support. My mil loved the military life, all the socials, the parties, etc. She was a huge factor in fil making full bird colonel.
She'll be here shortly to join us for drinks with grilled brats, shrimp cocktail, and various dippy sorts of things. Cheers. bbl

Sounds like it is going to be quite the big mess...I remember, I think it was last year, we had a really late snow up in the mountains...the hubby and I were going to go to Seattle for the weekend, but after we got all that snow, we decided to go up to Snoqualmie Pass....it was absolutely beautiful...then on our way back we stopped off at Snoqualmie Falls(Shades of the TV series Twin Peaks)...
Hope all travelers up that way, take precautions, and take lots of extra food and supplies and warm clothing, just in case...thanks for the warning...
