I agree with you Jaidyn!! They took a poll and 77% of the public were AGAINST him signing it and only 23% for him signing it. I think he is either over confident at the moment or he tryin to please too many masters. He needs to please the voters tho and stick to his word.

I understand what you are saying but I'm looking at my perspective. What if SCOTUS doesn't shoot it down? It scares me! BTW, Senate bill #1788, a gun bill is soon to come up for a vote. Check it out!! It's that anti-terrorist bill that the terrorists will be more than happy to see passed.

Hi Lynn, I expect the folks on that thread are the same handful of folks who live to complain about the President and who vow and declare with every sunrise they aren't going to vote for him ever again. I expect if the truth be known they didn't vote for him the first time either. Most of them are all hat and no cowboy and couldn't tell you factually what is in that bill and what is not. They operate on emotional and hearsay. All I can tell you is that he hasn't signed it yet... if and when he does sign it I expect he'll explain his reasons for doing so. IMHO, he is trying his best to be the President of All the citizens of this country and to do what is best for all of us ... not just we Pubbies. Perhaps he thinks the best way to put the issue to rest once and for all is to force a legal challenge. The sort of action that Senator McConnell has initiated.

I don't go for relying on the average citizen's ignorance. That is how we got Clinton. Bush better not be playing around with his high numbers because Americans have a short memory and the media keeps shoving his dad's "Read my lips; no new taxes" down our throats. They connect the two but most don't know the meaning of it.

Servant I think your wrong on this. People do want Reform but they most certainly don't want it in THIS form. Give people a litttle more credit. GW has broken ALL six things he said he would not sign in a Campaign Finance Reform Bill brought to him!!. I think the 11 Republicans that voted for this thing should be done away with. They don't deserve to be included in a party that is supposed to be Conservative. When I mention conservative here, I am not just addressing moral issues either!! I think it is dangerous to start worshipping ANY man. I love President Bush, but I can see that this month of March has got to be the worst month of his Presidency so far. I wanted with everything for him to stand up and stick to his word. This has very much disillusioned me.

Doris Kearns isn't the only one who plagiarizes others' writings. Prior to the impeachment hearings, I emailed Sen. Byrd several times, thinking he could re-direct the democrats since he denounced Clinton so vociferously. In one email I told him, "There are two documents that can't ever be changed, the Bible and the Constitution." The next day or so, he quoted that as his own. AND THAT IS THE TRUTH!! Man, I can't stand that guy!

You don't win by always telling your opponents what your plans are. The media does a wonderful job of telling the world that he is a simple straightforward politician. Sometimes they even convince you and me. Nothing could be further from the truth. He is extraordinarily subtle and he knows just what he is doing on this. I have been watching the man for 6 years longer than you have and I can tell you he is a conservative and that when you think he isn't it is because he is getting ready to pull a rabbit out of a hat and surpise the liberals.
