Yikes, this site is slow -- and I could not refresh the page until I reposted that old message. Weird.
To: ValerieUSA
Maybe all the posters are just "slow"!! LOL

"I got a Golden Eagle while he got the Red Ryder model Daisey."
loddy, I have lots of male cousins and one Christmas all of them got BB guns, Red Ryders I think it was. I cried because I'd wanted one too and didn't get it. LOL

LOL. Yes, I remember that, it did the same thing to my ears too. I can also remember how they smelled. Do you remember that ? :)

I can remember - THEY STUNK!!
To: ValerieUSA
Yep, agreed, it's been very weird lately. I'll sure be happy when they quit tinkering with it.

Yes, I do remember. They did smell. But the worst (best?) part was how nutso the noise made my mom!

brown as a biscuit ...?Only before the tan in a can wears off. I did get enough sun to only slightly burn. But, especially since the temps tonight are to be in the teens here, the warm sun there was worth it.

Now this is weird. Suddenly, out of the blue - three of my preferences changed. Most notably I was on Pacific time instead of Central. I just changed them back, but that was odd.

"Sometimes I got to play with the neighbor boys' cap pistols though. Hehehe...and I had the wildest stick horses in the neighborhood!"
You had for real stick horses ? WOW. Mine were always tobacco sticks. LOL

I didn't have a BB gun either. My parents hated those things - and so did we kids. Some mean kids in the nieghborhood shot our little dog in the butt with BBs when he was young. When he was like 16 yrs old he had to have X-rays at the vet for some reason, and those old BBs were still there.

You jus' let me know if'n he starts gettin' on your nerves, ma'am. I'll take care of him.
To: Darlin'
Damm. Did you tell Santa you wanted a RedRyder?
Moving to my first shotgun: I found a used model 97 Winchester at the local WesternAuto - $55. and told my folks about it. This was ALL I wanted for my 14th birthday. ALL I wanted.
We had my little dinner, the cake, candles and all that crap, but no thunderstick. I went to my room, crying my eyes out, when Daddy came in with the blunderbuss, saying that I should have had more faith.
Hell, he should have brought the freaking weapon out earlier.
Kids, we're goofier than people. ;-)
