I've had a pet blue jay for about 8 years and when she lays eggs, she doesn't show up on my patio for days and days. I wondered if they go into an altered state (sort of like hibernation)when there are eggs to keep warm. But, hey, westy - what do I know???? LOL

yes I was born in Manhattan on Riverside Drive
(behind Harlem)
lived there till we moved to Flushing, Queens when I was 8
then at 17 I moved back to Manhattan myself
I wanted to live in city
but whole time my dream was to live on farm
I still want that dream to come true

I watched the pass cams for a while and it didn't look like much traffic going through. Are the passes still snowed shut?

You may not be on a farm yet, but at least you've escaped the city. That's sure a step in the right direction. I did the opposite - moved from a small town to the big city and thought that was exciting. For a year or two, it was.

They got them back open this afternoon, an avalanche could close them again anytime...There for awhile they were running out of space to park the 18 wheelers.....

In the second cam you linked, there were "things" along the side of the road half buried in snow and I wondered if those were busses or semis.

I moved back to Manhattan when I was 17 cause I thought the city was excitin'
I continued to find it excitin' till I was 28
then I wanted out
but the more I struggled to get out the more trapped I became
finally by a miracle 10 years ago I escaped
it was best thing which ever happened to me
now I don't even like goin' to downtown Tucson

today is the first day of spring

Could be if they got trapped there yesterday when the highway was closed..Think they got 40 some inches of snow in 24 hrs....
