oki, the lights just came on in the houses, this is excitin'
and the baby eagle faced right into camera

The squirrel apartment is just a hole into the nest..Last year the squirrels would pop up into the nest. Mom eagle didn't approve. They have had visits from Steller Jays too ,an agressive bird. Causes excitement in the neighborhood..

This eaglecam is way cool...I am down here in Olympia, the webcam is up in Kent...sometimes we go way up north in Washington State, to near Mt Vernon, and then head into the Cascade Hwy...we do this in late January or early Feb....we love to go there then, because its at the time of year that there are lots and lots of bald eagles all around...they ranger says they have migrated down from Alaska for the winter, and that late Jan and early Feb is when the biggest population is down here...

We take our binoculars and drive along the road looking for bald eagles flying and nesting in their nests...its really very much fun...I am not normally a bird watcher, but seeing a bald eagle in full flight, is quite an exciting sight...

Right now I see a dark pic with house lights showing...It doesn't always refresh all the way. Look in tomorrow for a while..The eagles were some where else this afternoon. You never can tell what you will see. Luck...
