French carmaker Citroen has brought back its 2CV brand in a bid to boost sales of electric cars in a difficult market.
The new model, unveiled at the Paris Motor Show, is a small city runabout with retro styling which harks back to one of the company's most famous designs.
As a "concept car" intended to show Citroen's direction of travel, it is not yet ready to go on sale but the plan is to have a version in showrooms by 2028.
As they face mounting competition from Chinese manufacturers, Citroen and other European brands are exploiting their heritage as a means of selling modern motors.

I saw one in NYC they were filming a movie live in traffic with a film rig up front on a boon hung off a flat bed and another chase film van. It’s crazy small. But perfect for French narrow streets where speed limits in all of Paris are low.
75mph you will never do that in Paris.
PARIS:
Current Speed Limits by Area
• City Streets: 30 km/h (19 mph)
Two exceptions only.
• Avenue des Champs-Élysées: 50 km/h (31 mph)
• Boulevard Périphérique (Ring Road): 50 km/h (31 mph), lowered from 70 km/h as of October 2024
Paris is the ideal city for class A city cars you literally cannot go faster than 50km/h they photo enforce it and fine the snot out of you via automated tickets they just bill you off the plate grab. NYC does too it’s 25 mph in Manhattan and $125 I think 150 per camera ticket now. I got 3 last time in NYC for doing 28,29,30 mph they super strict too.
Cool. The Electric Snail.
Kind of resembles the Duck. With the Mini and Fiat 500 being resurrected I figured the Duck was due.
Most Teslas look like Fischer-Price designed them.
Except the cybertruck. It looks like a can of sardines.
La Deuche (in English, the douche).
Citroen (in English, the lemon).
I stand corrected. Looks like a 4-year-old's Leggo car.
