These people are dying to leave Canada.
Canada’s medically assisted suicide is responsible for nearly one in 10 deaths in some part of the country — with one area seeing rates over 13%.
Lanaudière — a mountainous region of Quebec just north of Montreal — had 13.4% of its deaths come from Canada’s medical assistance in dying program (MAID) in 2025, official records showed.
Across French-speaking Quebec, which is Canada’s second most populous province, 6,268 died by assisted suicide that year.
Nearly 8% of all deaths across the province of 8.5 million people were by assisted suicide, according to the health department data.
And it’s not just Quebec where the numbers are high and rising — across Canada in British Columbia more than 7% of deaths that year were through MAID, accounting for 3,189 out of 44,000 deaths in 12 months.
Nationwide, about 1 in 20 deaths were from assisted suicide. Numbers from 2025 are expected to be released soon, but the latest figures show 76,475 people have died by assisted suicide between 2016 when MAID was enacted and 2024.
The median age of assisted suicide patients was about 78 in 2024.
And experts have predicted the total MAID deaths have likely already passed the 100,000 mark as the controversial law turned 10 back in June — even though the official reports may not finalize that grim total for another year or two.
Canada has a population of 42 million and, like most developed economies, birthrates are plunging and the average age is rising.
With the nation’s universal health system, that means the wait times for specialized care has been increasing. The average wait to be treated by a specialist doctor was 28.6 weeks in 2025...

Say what you will about this but I personally plan on going the same way. I’ve cared for and helped care for several elders and I would never put anyone under me thru that...ever... when the time comes, there are plenty of ways to self terminate. You even get a chance to say goodbye to those closest to you...
People keep talking me into doing that... how much red tape is there these days? I never even tried before...
Our neighbor did the same thing about four years ago, and he can’t say enough good things about his care. He should’ve signed up like ago, but assumed he didn’t qualify since he wasn’t a lifer.
If the Campfire Girls are like the two girl scouts from “Airplane!”, then they won’t have any problems seizing Canada.

“Community” or Locally. Meds are a very small Copay if at all on-site or mailed.
No copay for Dr’s——

I got 2 torn rotator cuffs that I wanna get done. I’m still working and cant afford the down time. I’ll wait till I turn 65 and start getting ss checks. That’s the plan anyways...

The US should prohibit entry to Canadian “healthcare” personnel and implement sanctions. They are a significant risk, same as any other terrorists or serial murderers.

That might be hasty. We might consider out sourcing our executions to Canadian doctors. Defense teams can’t successfully argue it’s “cruel and unusual” with 10s of thousands of Canadians voluntarily using MAID.

Odd. I requested VA while traveling up the East Coast with an eye problem. After an hour of filling out forms, I was told I’d be informed after a couple of weeks.
A letter arrived advising me I was NOTVeligible unless I’d been sent to Iraq or Afghanistan—or if I’d been raped.

Goulish and disgusting although our American hospitals just love guiding our elderly into their graves, sending them home “on hospice” where you can’t get treatment to die. Disgusting, revolting and against the Hippocratic oath. Another reason to find a Catholic hospital if you can. Catholic doctrine has respect for life.
No Frank Ballenger, US health care is the same. Assisted dying. It’s too much trouble to get the patient well. Better to yell at them that they are dying and they need togo home “on hospice.” Did you know that with “hospice” no actual treatment is permitted? Only morphine? It’s ghoulish. Doctors have been trained to let those over 75 die.
