But we are a horrible, bloodthirsty terroristic country.

Just ask Hasan “Chop” Piker.

I’ve been following Nobunaga for a few months now, maybe several. Good guy.

Many of the crew have suffered radiation sickness and are suing Tokyo Power.

There are pictures of the flight deck being decontaminated.

And now, the rest of the story. Doesn't sound like our government wanted to help our veterans, as usual.

Apparently there was a wind shear right down the middle of the carrier. Look at the two flags blowing in opposite directions!

Nice story of our American sailors rendering assistance to Japanese people on the wake of the Fukushima tsunami in 2011.

American G.I.s also showed their generosity following World War II in Japan where they became famous for distributing candy to Japanese kids.

Playing pickleball here in Japan, I met a Japanese woman in her 80's who spoke even less English than my beginner Japanese.

But flashing back to when she was 4 years old, she remembers very well speaking one English phrase: "Gimme Chocolate".

We laughed together at the good fortune of sharing that memory.

My Dad was chief gunner's mate on an LST ship during the Battle of Okinawa where 4,900 American sailors lost their lives due to 1,900 attacks by suicide kamakaze pilots, most of them young teenagers.

As my Dad told us kids about the Battle of Okinawa, "If anybody tells you they weren't scared, they weren't there."

"...An invisible radiation cloud was drifting across the ocean...."

Hyperbole much?

There was only one death from the Fukushima explosion linked to excess radiation exposure, and that was a case of lung cancer of disputed cause.

On the other hand, more than 50 people died in the evacuation. In other words, the panic killed 50x more people than the radiation leakage did.

Not to denigrate the service of the sailors and Marines on board the USS Ronald Reagan, but the "threat" wasn't nearly as bad as they were guesstimating.

Same thing happened when Alicia destroyed Houston, Tx. A nuke sub pulled up to the harbor and offered leccy.
The liberals rejected that for days ‘cause.... nuklar = evil.
So, I sat in the dark for days, the bastids.
