Trump Demands the Fed ‘LOWER THE INTEREST RATES’ In Angry Post Following Hike

President Donald Trump posted on Wednesday afternoon, as he was widely expected to do, fuming about the Federal Reserve’s decision to raise interest rates.

“Interest Rates in the United States should be 1%, or less, because we are the Best Credit in the World — BY FAR. Our Country is BOOMING with new Investment!” wrote Trump on Truth Social, adding:

If we stopped Trading with every country that we have a Deficit with, which is most of them, we would make, at least, 1.5 Trillion Dollars a year. The word “Deficit” is nothing more than a fancy word for LOSS. We are “carrying” almost every country in the World, and that cannot go on any longer. LOWER THE INTEREST RATES FOR THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, AND FAST! President DONALD J. TRUMP

Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh, nominated this year by Trump, refused to discuss any conversation he had with Trump about the topic during a presser after the decision was announced. The rate hike is the first increase in over three years and was expected, as inflation has ticked up as a result of the war in Iran.

“What is your message here to President Trump?” ABC News’ Elizabeth Schulze asked Warsh during the presser.

“I’ve got nothing for you on the discussion with the president,” going on to emphasize that “the least well-off [Americans] have the most to gain from stable prices. The decision we made today was the right decision to deliver on the remit that Congress gave us to ensure stable prices,” he replied.

Earlier in the month, Trump wildly threatened to stop trading with certain countries if the Fed did not lower rates.

“A STRONG COUNTRY MEANS A LOWER INTEREST RATE – IT’S A BETTER CREDIT…Very simple! We should have the LOWEST RATE of any country in the World, like “the old days.” Without the United States agreeing to allow them their big surpluses, and we could stop that immediately, they would no longer be considered financially ELITE! LOWER THE RATE OR I’LL STOP TRADING WITH COUNTRIES WITH WHICH WE HAVE A DEFICIT, which the U.S. Supreme Court, in its ridiculous and very costly Tariff decision, strongly acknowledged “the President” has an absolute right to do. IT’S BETTER THAN TARIFFS! The Fed Board, with its great new leader, must get smart – BE PATRIOTS for a change. High interest rates put the U.S.A. at a very unfair disadvantage, and I won’t allow that to happen!” Trump wrote on September 4th.

High interest rates not only raise borrowing costs for Americans, but also continue to balloon the U.S. national debt, which surpassed $40 trillion in August, requiring a monthly $96 billion interest payment.

Warsh is just doing his job. With tariffs, a war, much higher oil prices as a result, reckless spending, increased defense spending, and a budget deficit of $1.8 trillion—he has his work cut out for him

Warsh is doing the right thing. We don't have to agree with him or like what he's doing right now.

This is also why the Trump “dividend” is insane. Since the government cannot pass a budget, these payments get baked into each successive CR, which are funded at existing spending levels and then spent on other things. Thus, the $1.3T dividend becomes an expense in perpetuity. The COVID payouts have added roughly $10T to the deficit and counting.

Trump agrees with what the Fed did. He is preparing to blame the Fed for economic problems in case they appear.

From the numbers given above, I calculate a rate of 2.88% without compounding or about 3.00% with compounding..

Low enough, seems to me.

Why is it no other country has raised their interest rates?

This was the wrong time to raise interest rates.

I get that the FED is worried about inflation. But we are facing an oil price shock. Oil price shocks crash the economy. It was an oil price shock in 2007 that led to the financial crisis in 2008.

It was more than silly,,,,it was stupid. Trump is a smart businessman. It is amazing he would make a ridiculous statement like that.

You don’t need a PhD or even a college degree to realize 1% interest rates with inflation at 3.4% is just plain stupid. Common sense tells you that.

Wrong, the ECB raised interest rates by .25% on Sept. 10.

Lots of countries have lowered and raised since 2025.

The main reason most countries haven't raised rates but lowered them is because their economies aren't very strong nor supported by excess deficits like us.

Um, what?

The ECB - Eurozone central bank - just raised their prime rate by a quarter point last week.

South Korea did the same 3 weeks ago.

Trump can “jaw jaw” the bankers in the financial sector as much as he wants, but it isn’t going to lower interest rates

Going back to the cheap money era, which was continued too long would be an economic disaster. The prudent course is to maintain the current policies on interest rates.

Finally, if President Trump doesn’t like where the economy is headed, maybe he should’ve considered that when he got played like a “sucker & a loser” by his buddies that wanted a War with Iran.

“High interest rates not only raise borrowing costs for Americans, but also continue to balloon the U.S. national debt, which surpassed $40 trillion in August, requiring a monthly $96 billion interest payment.”

* Demand for mortgages is not high

* No lines at the pump.

* No lines at the grocery

* No lines at the home construction stores

They’re just out for the money that’s all, as demand is nil.

And the 40 Trillion, the plan no doubt, to put it on the non-government public at large. Complete with comprehensive data profiling, of each US citizen.

Going with Trump on this one ✅

But not with 7000 data-AI citizen profile data centralization.. ✖️
