Climate Activists Blame Global Warming For Zero Hurricanes Forming In Atlantic This Year

U.S. — Climate activists sounded the alarm this week, warning that global warming was to blame for zero hurricanes forming in the Atlantic Ocean this year.

Though it was previously a common belief that global warming would lead to more frequent and powerful hurricanes, experts warned the lack of hurricanes was also the result of climate change and that Republicans would "rue the day" they ever dismissed it as a hoax.

"The pleasant hurricane season Florida is having is directly caused by global warming, and we are all going to die as a result," said protester Byron Bridges. "America must mandate the use of electric cars immediately — but not Teslas."

According to climate activists, no hurricanes might seem good until you realize fewer people are being killed by them. "With no hurricanes around to quell the human population, the world will become overpopulated, and we will all die for completely different reasons," warned climate activist and part-time masseuse Gina Hampton. "Unless a level 5 hurricane hits Miami this year, we are all going to die."

Critics suggested climate activists needed to chill out, which was interpreted as a threat that conservatives would intentionally bring about global cooling — which is also bad.

"Any change the weather does is bad," Hampton explained. "Hot. Cold. No hurricanes. Some hurricanes. It's all going to kill us."

At publishing time, climate activists were panicking in the streets after seeing a pleasant sunny day, which they warned would lead to the overcrowding of parks, beaches, and playgrounds.

It’s the Bee. If hurricanes were numerous and hugely destructive the same activists would be blaming global warming.

It gets worse - there has only been one F5 tornado anywhere in the world in the last 13 years!

That's because the F-5 designation was discontinued and replaced with "EF-5", on Feb. 1, 2007.

DOH !!

The change was made because "F-5" was overestimating wind speeds. Studies showed that damage attributed to wind speeds thought to be well over 250 mph or more would actually be caused by winds around 200 mph. The amount and type of destruction is pretty much the same in each class as before, but more precisely evaluated in the EF-5 class, EF-4 class, etc., designations. Among other things there is now a 28 item list of "damage indicators", and construction quality is now taken into account.

Essentially, from a damage standpoint, a F-5 mowed everything down, and an EF-5 mows everything down. With that in mind, your argument is nonsense. The last EF-5 was the Enderlin, North Dakota tornado on June 20, 2025.

There have been some "real doosie" long track EF-4's in recent years, also. If the mile-wide strong EF-4 that whacked Western KY (esp. Mayfield) on December 10, 2021 (a quite unusual time of year for a large tornado) had not briefly lifted near the TN-KY border, it would have the title of longest continuous track tornado in US history.

Now that said, even if temperatures are higher, it is not a guarantee of more and / or stronger storms. The September we are having here in the mid-south USA is a good example: The conditions actually preclude storms forming - we just get to sweat a lot. :-(

BTW, please do tell where you got your (likely deliberately) misleading "information", so we know never to pay them, or you, any mind ever again.

Wow, I wasn't expecting such a tedious response to a light joking comment based on the fact that there is a serious drought of F5/EF5/IF5 tornadoes. I used "F5" rather than the more tedious all-encompassing designation; ironically you are apparently unaware that the EF5 designation was ITSELF replaced with the IF5 designation!

I said there had been only 1 F5 (all scales!) in the last 13 years, and you correctly identified it! So how do you torture your logic into complaining that I made a mistake when you agreed with me??

You seem to have thoroughly misunderstood that I was mocking global warming alarmists with my post.

The Bee is becoming real news.

I have lived in hurricane country for 60+ years and am very happy for a storm free season.

The enviro-nazis haven’t had to live through a storm and the aftermath. Sheltered little punks.

The warming did indeed cause this from El Nino causing more windshear. Warmth can in fact both cause more hurricanes and fewer hurricanes, depending on what the warmth does. La Nina may result in the opposite by reducing windshear causing fewer obstacles for storms to organize and develop.

However, that is not evidence of “global warming.” These anomalies have been occurring throughout all of history. This record is the first time in 112 years - which would have been well before our current levels of industrialization and everything in between.
