Hayden Panettiere died after taking just one pill that is believed to have been oxycodone laced with fentanyl, it was reported Monday as cops are said to be “zeroing in” on her alleged dealer.
The actress appears to have met with her “long-term drug dealer” in Los Angeles before flying to South Carolina, where she died of a suspected overdose on Aug. 16, just before her 37th birthday, multiple law enforcement sources connected to the case told TMZ.
The mom appears to have taken one pill the day she died, but it was fatal because it was laced with fentanyl, the sources said of the opioid 50 times stronger than heroin.
Panettiere died from a suspected overdose but the authorities have not released her exact cause of death. They warned toxicology results could take up to 12 weeks.
The development comes amid reports that the authorities were “zeroing in on a potential drug dealer” in the case.
Drug Enforcement Administration officials in Los Angeles and South Carolina are investigating, according to TMZ.
Panettiere’s abusive on-off ex, Brian Hickerson — who was with her on the flight and the South Carolina apartment where she died — has already met with DEA officials, according to reports.
It’s not known what Hickerson revealed to law enforcement officials but he previously told police Panettiere had a “bag of medication” with her.
The drugs Panettiere was reportedly taking were redacted in the Greenville City Police, although there were nine different types.
Panettiere, who was best known for her roles in “Heroes” and “Nashville,” had been open about her battles with addiction in her memoir, “This is Me: A Reckoning,” which was published just three months before her death.

Petty had a fractured hip, and had just finished his 40th anniversary tour days before his death.
There was a post on Facebook just recently that Manchester, NH did NOT have a drug overdose death in August.
It was the first month in YEARS that the city did NOT have anyone die of an overdose.
Of course, 90% or more of those deaths were due to Fentanyl.
Didn’t she have Post-Partum Depression.
But at least she didn’t kill her kid.
A friend went i to the ER about 1 pm and they had a urinalysis done within 2 hours and a blood tox done that evening. The 12 weeks for a toxicology report is ridiculous. Why not just say the complète investigation could take 3 months. The toxicology report is already done.
On the opposite perspective I watched the Rick Springfield interview on Joe Rogan Experience last night.
Rick is 77 years old. He works out six days a week.
He looked like he was in his early sixties.
I suspect he has had some cosmetic surgery.
However, he is a health nut.
As is Rogan.
They talked about other old rockers like Mick Jagger. Who travels with two semi trucks filled with gym/workout equipment when he is on tour. So that he can still run around stage like a chicken with his head cut off at the age of 83.
I heard it in Joe Rogan. So who knows what ‘scientific discovery’ was actually behind the reporting.
This happens everyday, several people in every single state.
You don’t hear about it because they are average Joe’s and aren’t famous. Plus the media seeks to erase our borders so they can’t let you know the invaders are poisoning US citizens.
There were thousands of people killed by one pill for over a decade. One of the consequences of open borders we had.
I was a bit nervous about being given fentanyl in the hospital, and said so etching like “isn’t that the drug peeps are dying from?” And was told that hospital grade was safe and that street grade often was mixed with other junk which made it deadly.
I’d still rather just get the old standby hospital pai. Relief with morphine or Darvocet or whatever after operations.
So I can’t trust SoCal drug dealers to do stringent quality control?
There was a cop show where a cop stopped a woman acting crazy, sea4ched her pocketbook, found an old pipe or so etching, arrested her, was driving back to police station, got to parking lot, and all of a sudden started freezing up and was having trouble breathing, but was able to get the car in park fortunetely. The woman knew immediately what was happening, and called out to passing cops who got the fella out and administered narcan. All he did was touch the pipe or whatever it was. She likely saved his life. Thankfully she was with it enough to call put and explain.
I do think fentanyl was found in his system, though I think most of the drugs he was given were prescription pain drugs. It was considered an accidental overdose. It would be interesting to know where the meds were purchased from.
Because Hayden was a celebrity. No one cares about the nobodies.
Nor where you live either.
So she committed suicide.
