In a completely jaw-dropping moment at the recent Democratic Socialists of America-backed Socialism 2026 conference in Chicago, an unhinged radical made the outlandish claim that GLP-1 drugs are “fascist” because they “genocide fat people.”
“The political deployment of GLP-1s is fascistic, not because individuals take them, but because the conditions under which they become necessary are shaped by a world fixated on genociding fat people,” proclaimed Atlanta activist Da’Shaun L. Harrison.
The extremist claimed the drugs, like Ozempic, Wegovy and Mounjaro — which were developed to treat diabetes are credited with lowering the risk of death from heart attack or stroke by 20% in high-risk patients — exist “to sustain a social order in which fat people are monitored, restricted, guilted, stolen from and punished.”
“Body fascism is not some relic from the past, it’s an active feature of modern imperial regimes,” lambasted Harrison, who proudly plasters their Instagram page with snaps of their swimsuit-clad overweight body. “Every time a government decides whose bodies must be protected and whose bodies must be erased for the sake of national imagery, this is body fascism.”
Harrison, a self-described “ungendered” author and “trans theorist,” who penned the 2022 book, “Belly of the Beast: The Politics of Anti-Fatness as Anti-Blackness,” spoke at the conference attended by more than 3,000 comrades from across the country.
“We have to give up the fantasy of being fitter than the fascists,” chimed in Beatrice Adler-Bolton, another crazed speaker on the “Health Fascism, Body Politics, and the Anti-State State” panel.
“Fitness is a measure of relative disposability under capitalism. Our task is not to become less disposable to become more useful to the ruling order…

The more victim labels you can claim in intersectionality translate directly to the precedence of your (insane) thoughts, privileges/monies/positions due to you as reparations for the injustices theoretically suffered if not by you than by the class of persons you claim.
(Ironically the very top of the intersectionality pyramid which cannot be questioned or gainsaid is muhammedans; but that’s because the whole point of this scheme is to destroy us. Also they don’t give a rat about some purple-haired dingo.)
So by intersectionality logic if you have a means to actually fix a problem — in this case something that causes an improvement in health to an obese person — you’ve killed them. No victim status! No reparations! They’ve become (gasp) able!(ist). They’re still white! Now they’re the oppressor class!

The use of GLP-1 drugs was designed for diabetic assistance and in most cases never reaches their use. They have become a go to for doctors to perscribe when the illness has continually out run the use of diet, exercise, and in more intense cases insulin both long range and short types.
There are times when the disease reaches a need for these types of meds, but normally another problem has slipped into the mix like heart failure and a more dramatic med (GLP-1) can slow the progression. (Can’t stop congestive heart failure)
But we are certain in the reason they were invented, the weight loss is a side effect not what they were created for. So this while thing is complaining about cosmestic medication no different than meds used for acne. Only this stuff can kill you very easily with gastroparesis and bowel obstruction, gallbladder disease, pancreatitis, kidney injury, and thyroid tumor risks. Heck of a price to pay to substitute weight loss for drug use that lies about the safety and success of its utilization. And it’s nothing but a “hail mary” for ego when used for appearance.

Thanks for posting. GLP-1 side effects may vary. Dose recommendations may vary. Pill potency may vary, etc., etc. Too many variables may result in a plethora of problems up to and including death. Consult your doctor. Doctors opinions may vary.
Doc put me on minimal dose ozempic second to last visit. check up last week, A1C down slightly, blood glucose down significantly. And I feel better. And my pants waist is looser.
Whatever side effects there may be are lost in the noise of what the metformin does.
