American manufacturing is on the rebound — and that good news could hardly come at a better time for President Donald Trump, as Republicans gird themselves for the midterm elections just two months from now.
Manufacturing isn’t the only sector that’s on a hiring spree; businesses across the board added 162,000 new jobs in August.
Even The New York Times called the latest employment numbers “zesty.”
The paper quoted T. Rowe Price’s chief US economist, Blerina Uruci: “It’s a very good report . . . And it perhaps shows that financial conditions more broadly are not that tight.”
The workforce participation rate rose as well — which matters, because people who drop out of the labor force are invisible in unemployment rates that only count those who are looking for work.
This economy is pulling Americans who’d given up hope off the sidelines and putting them to work.
That’s a success not only for Trump’s economic policy, but for his immigration crackdown, too: It’s no longer so easy for companies to abandon Americans by hiring foreign workers instead.
Establishment economists predicted none of this.
They were certain Trump’s tariffs would be catastrophic, and that American industry would contract without constant infusions of foreign labor.

Monthly Job Additions (2026)
January: +130,000 jobs (unemployment rate at 4.3%)
February: -92,000 jobs (unemployment rate at 4.4%)
March: +178,000 jobs (unemployment rate at 4.3%)
April: +115,000 jobs (unemployment rate at 4.3%)
May: +172,000 jobs (unemployment rate at 4.3%)
June: +57,000 initially reported (+31,000 after subsequent revisions)
July: -23,000 initially reported (+21,000 after subsequent revisions)
August: +162,000 jobs (unemployment rate at 4.1%)
At the macro level, Trump with taxes, deregulation, hitting unfair trade and trying to bring manufacturing back to the US, energy / immigration / visa policies, is creating a “growth oriented” posture.
No matter what the numbers, they are better than what they would have been given the course we were on.
Just one small common sense example where most should be able to extrapolate: what do you think oil prices would be today had it not been for him immediately pushing for more US oil production as he assumed office given the Hormuz crisis today?
As soon as Trump is gone both parties will throw out the tariffs since both parties only agree on two things A) replacing Americans with third world and B) sending jobs overseas.

You might want to take a look at the report to see how many men were hired. (Hint: it’s less than 10% of all new hires, much less)
It means nothing when people have to pay nearly $5 for every damned gallon of gas. Unless Trump STOPS this Iran crap, we will lose the Congress.

No we wont. Folks remember just a few years ago when things were much much worse. Gas/oil is the only thing really exacerbating inflation.
