Have you checked the filter? If that is not clean then the evap coils will ice up.
However this also happens if there is debris on the coils themselves.

Call for an HVAC service.

Have an HVAC guy coming today. I changed the filter (it was still pretty good, but they say change it every month regardless and we were at 28 days). I was worried about icing, so had the a/c off and just ran it on fan overnight for about 10 hours, 78 degrees out most of the night. No water around the unit in the morning at 7 am.

It is on “cooling” again and same as before, low air flow but had colder air coming out of the registers. Hopefully it won’t be a big repair bill. New to the area so it is hard to tell who to trust. Went with a small local firm with decent reviews. we’ll see.
