Earlier this week, the WNBA, the women's professional basketball league, announced that two former NBA players were ineligible to play in the league.
Former NBA stars Royce (Roysha) White and Enes Kanter Freedom had announced they were intending to play in the league next year after the WENBA brass refused to condemn biological men playing in the league against women.
The league did not elaborate on the reasons for declaring the two men ineligible.
Since this announcement, news has broken that the league previously allowed trans players to play.
In fact, one of the trans players has been very vocal.
Layshia Clarendon was born a female but decided to have her breasts removed while playing in the WNBA. She played in the league from 2013 to 2024.
Clay Travis posted the tweet earlier on Thursday. Travis believes the WNBA has a major legal problem.
The league allowed Clarendon to play while receiving testosterone, but Royce and Enes are not allowed?
I would like other lawyers to read and analyze this too. If @wnba let a woman identifying as a man play — while receiving testosterone — and called him a man in league releases how can they ban men who say they are women? https://t.co/snCpxHxhvp

I think the issue is this, the WNBA already has people who were born men playing in the league and if challenged in court would have a difficult time defending keeping Enes Kantor and Royce White out of the league.
Social media speculation is that Britney Griner is really a biological male, this is the person who was caught with drugs in Russia and sent to prison, later Biden swapped Victor Bout an arms dealer for Griner in order to get her released.
The NBA should welcome trans women to compete in the NBA. If Freedom claims he is a woman, he can still compete in the NBA.
Problem solved.
I don’t think the WNBA is getting much in the form of subsidies. There are probably some anti-trust issues they get a pass on…but direct money from the government? That’s not happening.
Yep. They violated everything they CLAIMED to stand for and believe. Remember the whole “you just have to take their word for it”? “Its hateful to dare question them”? Well then..........
The plaintiffs get to choose where they file suit. So THEY are the ones who get to forum and judge shop.
Imus was right!
He’s still eligible for the NBA but as far as i know, he’s retired...
For starters, the stadiums are subsidized by taxpayers.
Well, who?????
Or, cared.
Or, cared.
WHAT ABOUT GRINER????
RE: So she is still a chick and always will be.
Will this player object or accept the use of the pronoun “she”?
Weirdo NBA
The thought of the WNBA owning a stadium is laughable.
They barely make more money than your local little league team snack bar on a tournament weekend.
No…they are not owners of stadiums or arenas.
There is a court of law, and then there is a court of public opinion. The public are mainly non lawyers and basic simple sentence such as “WNBA already allowed a “man” to play” is very damaging. Ticket buying public does not do nuance….
A person needs to have a very peculiar state of mind to watch a WNBA game. The Fever play tonight.
If the owners of arenas paid the full cost of the arena, instead of the taxpayers, the WNBA players would rightly make less.
Did he dominate?
