Geybert Alexander Garcia and Melany Perdomo are accused of breaking into the Coral Gables home of Henry Parra, 55, and Adam Hlavaty, 42 — who were two of the seven people who died in the mountainside crash while on safari last Wednesday.
Police said the burglary happened sometime between Thursday and Saturday, after the crash, WPLG reported.
Garcia, 40, and Perdomo, 24, “ransacked the residence and removed numerous items belonging to the decedent such as personal and business documents, jewelry, electronics, and artwork,” according to an arrest report.
They also stole the couple’s 2023 Land Rover and 2020 Porsche Taycan.
Pings from the stolen MacBook and Land Rover led police to the couple’s home in a nearby community where they lived together.

They were smart enough to find out where the dead dudes lived and burglarize the now presumed empty home, but stupid enough to take things that were going to lead the police right to them.
They could have shut down the computer and put it in a faraday bag, but the car is pretty much going to bring the police to your door. Maybe you could put it in a sheetmetal shed? Disconnect the satellite antenna?

Well, we can feel about as we may, but they’re legally married. ‘Couple’ seems to be the correct term a disinterested news report would use.

Well, it happens to be the way things are today.
Of course, you can contact the news source and complain about their English language usage - that might give you satisfaction, as if often does me; but it probably wouldn’t change much.

People with the kind of money that the victims had generally have domestic help of one kind or another. A gardner, cleaning lady, handman, who sometimes bring their kids along to help. When they died the word about how much lucre was laying around the house must and where it was must have gotten out. I knew a physician who left a bank logoed bag with $5,000 in cash on a home office desk unattended, while the cleaning lady and her daughter were vaccuuming the house. "I've know her for years!" The daughter is eighteen, and even if she does not have a sense of entitlement, she has lots of friends who do.

Homes of the decedents or family members attending their funerals are perfect targets for burglaries as funeral services are often publicized.
A high trust community would have neighbors watching over these homes during the services but we gave up our high trust society in exchange for cheap labor.
Police tracked the stolen items to the home pictured — where stolen vehicles sat parked i the driveway.

You fell asleep while reading a science fiction novel. It’s about a man who wakes up and find he lives in a world where civilization is on the decline but government is on the rise. A world where people are tracked like cattle. A world where amorality has become an anathema.
You need only to wake up 80 years ago, and escape the nightmare.
Sounds like a SiFi novel I may have dreamt that I read sometime during my 80 year delirium.
