A federal jury in Maine said there were no defects in Sig Sauer's P320 in a case in an unintended discharge of the firearm.
The jury considered product liability, negligence, and breach of implied warranty, and ruled unanimously in favor of Sig Sauer.
No word on the jury's experience with weapon usage, handling and ownership.
But the unsubstantiated stories were enough to panic many Departments into abandoning the Sigs as a duty weapon.
Any word on whether the City was compensating affected Officers and properly training them up on their new pistols?

If there are doubts, choose a different weapon.
Not to cloud your post my Friend….
Love his guy, love his show. Here is a great segment that one can view ‘barrel whip’ of that magnificent auto rifle…a variant of which helped Frank Hamer and Benjamin Maney Gault neutralize Bonnie & Clyde.

Wonderful pistols.

Every p320 negligent discharge turns out to be a trigger pull. Is there any evidence it is defective? None. Is it bad design to have a light, short trigger in a duty/carry gun? I think so.
Agreed!

I’ve carried Glock 17, 19,27, and 26 as duty weapons over the years, and have trained many people on both those and SIG products. I’ve never seen a Glock malfunction unrelated to crummy ammo or a limp wrist.
Used P320s have been badmouthed now for quite a while. Perhaps I can pick up on for cheap money!
There is a phrase that was common a decade or so ago in the shooting world, “Glock Leg”. When the Glock was relatively new, and people hadn’t fully transitioned to kydex holsters, there were a bunch of negligent glock discharges into the the leg when holstering. There is a famous video of a glock going of in a holster as the owner bends over.
Glock is fundamentally safer than the 320 because it has a “worse” trigger. Longer, harder pull. Maybe the dingus helps too. But if the trigger gets pulled, it will still go off, even in a holster.

Nothing but a bunch of useless commentary and a good handgun (don’t own one). If it were so bad, a LOT of people would be reporting issues with it. It’s all hype. How stupid. When a handgun has a legitimate flaw, it becomes known (i.e. Smith & Wesson Shield 9mm compact - magazines hard to load. Fact. However, gun functions fine. Llama Minimax Subcompact .45 (looks like a Warthog) - continual misfire issues. Very difficult to correct. Fact. And, so forth.)

The N-frame is too large for my hand. I had 28 and still have a 29, but the Lframe 7 shot 357 worked better for ME. For daily carry, weight and concealment matters to me and the little Hellcat and LCP MAX work better still wearing a Tshirt in southern Arizona.
But if I had to do it over, I’d have kept the 28 and sold the 29. A 44 just doesn’t make sense for me and my small hands.

The other day the comments suddenly turned into a troll war!

And I would add: know the source.

I inherited my grandfather’s 1911. Not an A1. Date stamp is 1913. Operates very well.
I’m still not buying a P320. I only want my pistol to go bang when I pull the trigger.
Reading the comments, I have read yours three times and laughed each time.
Fun is funny.
I’ll have to check into those.
I’m a hammer fired guy at heart.
