Portland, Oregon, mother Allison Roberts filed a lawsuit on Wednesday against Portland Public Schools and her children’s elementary school after allegedly facing retaliation over her opposition to their gender curriculum.
According to the Liberty Justice Center, which filed the lawsuit on behalf of Roberts, she initially expressed concern last year over Meriwether Lewis Elementary School’s decision to repaint its traditional rainbow pride flag into an “Intersex-Inclusive Progress” variant to include support for racial and transgender ideology.
Though Roberts supported “being immersed” in Portland’s gay community, she felt that the new flag was “an overtly political symbol that promotes values contradictory to her Christian faith,” specifically due to its promotion of transgenderism.
Before she took any action, she discovered an “identity flower” assignment given to her 11-year-old child that asked students to identify and discuss their gender identity with classmates and teachers.
Roberts alleged that she received no prior notice of this assignment and requested a meeting with the school’s principal. After receiving what she described as an unsatisfactory response from the school, Roberts wrote an open letter to the community against the school’s policies, which she distributed on a public sidewalk outside school property.
Roberts was later issued a one-year trespass order after a heated exchange with another parent, barring her from attending school events, including her child’s graduation ceremony. When she reached out to the school for clarification, Roberts was reportedly told that it was a result of engaging in “harassment, intimidation, and threatening behavior” as part of a pattern of “animus and harassment targeting vulnerable members of [the] community.”

“concern last year over Meriwether Lewis Elementary School’s decision to repaint its traditional rainbow pride flag”
To me, it sounds that she’s OK with the perversions associated with the pride flag. But she’s not OK with other perversions?
Unless we can find out just how that mother acted and what she said during that conference with the principal, I will suspend judgement.
She may have been courteous and concise - or she may have uttered threats. The article is not clear on this.

Yeah...lost interest right there...
Make your kid fall in line, Allison, or out you go. No disagreement allowed.
Gooble, gobble,
Gooble, gobble,
One of us!
One of us!
So a school superintendent/principal, or school board is now judge, jury, and executioner!
I hope she wins NOT millions, but 10’s of millions
it’s the only way to potentially break these people, because they’re not being voted out of office!
One of the hallmarks of an Era of Universal Ignorance, or that we’re heading into one unless we drastically change course, is that certain things start to become taboo. Certain “accepted” orthodoxies start to become above and beyond any and all questioning or criticism.
Pretty much anything, which falls under the so-called “woke” umbrella can be considered such an orthodoxy (or so we are commanded to believe).
OBEY.
Disagreement is a threat with the leftist trans supporters.
Graduation from elementary school...
Sigh.

Message: Please work to end all tax funding to Meriwether Lewis Elementary School, which is publicly funded through Portland Public Schools’ (PPS) $2.77 billion overall district budget.
On a per-student basis, public schools across Oregon receive an average of $21,000 per pupil in combined local, state, and federal tax dollars. With Lewis Elementary maintaining an enrollment of roughly 350 to 400 students, its proportional share of public funding sits at an estimated $7.3 million to $8.4 million annually.
Banning a tax-paying parent from open public events, like graduations, outdoor athletic games, requires meeting a higher legal standard of disruption or safety risk.
Civil rights organizations like the ACLU cite due process concerns and have challenged indefinite, arbitrary bans that block a parent from communicating with teachers or picking up their child without offering an appeal process or hearing.
Not removing your children from public schools is proof that people love their stuff more than their children.
Find a way, or make one.
Really. I think they have kindergarten graduations, too. Ridiculous.
Lol exactly. My kid would not attend either.
“Allison Roberts filed a lawsuit on Wednesday against Portland Public Schools”
What an idiot. File lawsuits against each person on the School Board and in the school’s administration ... PERSONALLY.
Filing against the school only will hurt the taxpayers. When people have to pay up out of their own pockets is when they pay attention to what decisions and actions they take in the future.
MM, school board members often enjoy legal protection from civil suits.
Taxpayers and parents are screwed there, too.
“ Gooble, gobble,
Gooble, gobble,
One of us!
One of us!”
One of the creepiest movie scenes ever! Now I’ll have the little guy with the knife between his teeth in my mind.
As best I can remember, in my day there were only senior high graduations. No complaints about this then. Of course, there were more people using common sense back then. Senior high graduation represented that final accomplishment before college. What else was needed? I was one of those who only graduated as a high school senior & I never felt like I missed out on anything.
Yes, that’s right. Trans is just one perversion too far for her.
Sacajawea would not have guided Captains Lewis and Clark from her Nez Pierce homelands on the Clearwater River IF they had not proudly displayed the RAINBOW flag. Known for its inclusivity for all Native American tribes.
do I need to add the (s) ?
