The Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) has been desperate for attention throughout most of its 30-year history. Caitlin Clark has been trying to change that for a couple of years, but she's out of step with the league's victimhood mentality. Rather than celebrate the winning lottery ticket that Clark represents, most of the rest of the league seems to be trying to run her off or prematurely end her career by injuring her.
There's been an interesting by-product to the WNBA's lousy treatment of Clark: the rise to fame of her teammate Sophie Cunningham. Cunningham hit the spotlight in grand fashion last year when she threw an opponent to the ground after the opponent had thrust her finger into Clark's eye and wasn't assessed a foul. Overnight, the bubbly blonde Missouri girl became known as Caitlin Clark's enforcer.
The WNBA Victim Chorus has not been handling the popularity of Clark and Cunningham well. The more they hate, the more normal people are drawn to Caitlin and Sophie. All the worst kinds of Woke Mafia members are being triggered, and it's a blast to watch.
When Cunningham stated her support for "protecting" women's sports from biological males and then stood by it, the Woke Mob came after her.
The ones in the WNBA are already regretting that.
In typical fashion, the raging lefties just couldn't let Cunningham have an opinion that ran counter to the narrative. Sports media hacks — who lean more left than anyone else in media — immediately began marginalizing Cunningham. If the overuse of the word "controversial" was a crime, they'd all be in lockup.
Well, they wanted to keep the conversation going, and they're getting their wish.

I haven’t even been publicly trans for 72 hours and I’m already getting so much hate.
I just want to hoop with my girls in my feminine era! Why can’t y’all be happy for me?
The WNBA jas at least 1 male pretending to be a female, I bet they may be more
WNBA is usually not on my sports radar at all. But since it has now forced it’s way onto national news. I find it astounding that after so many years of mediocrity they had reached a near breakthrough with the addiion of Clark. They now appear to have chosen the path of self destruction. What kind of ownership do they have that would see everything fall apart as it now appears to be happening.
It's unfortunate that race has to come into this, but it is the racist black lesbians in the WNBA - and racists/race-baiters in the media - who made it about skin color.

Sophie Cunningham has “ball” talent ... for gurl.
“The Morning Briefing: Sophie Cunningham Triggered an Avalanche of Bluff-Calling for the WNBA”. A person must be in a very peculiar state of mind to watch a WNBA game. The Fever play tomorrow.
I don’t understand why any WNBA player-gay or straight-would advocate for biological males in their sport. Are they getting paid extra for their stance?
At this point, I’m wondering if the WNBA is just a money laundering operation.
Why isn’t this league called the Tranny National Testicleball Association?
They are parasites. They cost the NBA millions. Maybe it's some kind of tax avoidance scheme.
& don't get me started on Clark - they body-bump-foul her on practically every drive.
The Fever are just flat out FUN to watch, and the refs, coaches, league leadership and opposing players are just ruining it.
It's shameful, is what it is!
Pro Wrestling sells tickets by having the good guy and the “HEEL”. Maybe the way the WNBA can keep an audience is to become like pro wrestling and have a game that appears to be a legit game...but is really a socio-drama of the good gal and the heel.
Total honesty: I played - college on a bb scholarship- taught bb as a side job, coached for many years and played full court to 65 and only stopped because I wanted to watch my grandchildren grow up.
My take on Wnba is this, I like Franco American spaghetti
It is a good quick tasty meal but I never confuse it with a plate of spaghetti served at an Italian restaurant.
What the wnba sells can be fun and interesting sometimes but it’s not true professional level basketball.
I have nothing against the wnba trying to sell knock off basketball but the truth is that is what their product i, knock off basketball. Allowing delusional men who seriously imagine themselves to be women will kill this knock off league
She shows great restraint not going full Taekwondo on these nappy heads.
White and Freedom should become their own WNBA team, just the two of them, see how that plays out…
“...with the addiion of Clark...”
Problem is that Clark has come into the league and taken over the spotlight and many of the endorsements because of talent and not criminality. And this doesn’t sit well with the thugs they brought in prior to her that were in there to try to compete with the violence of the NBA along with determining if a smaller salary without endorsements was sufficient to support the violence. However, putting on wigs and makeup is still putting a bow on a pig.
So ego, jealousy, bottom line, and glamour have raised their ugly heads and become a factor in the leagues destiny. There were 7 previous leagues in the US that have failed. This one will too. Too much ego, too few opportunities to make money at the level they players think they are worth, and the type of too many players that settle their differences with punches and elbows cause that’s how they make their money. In hockey they’d be called goons.

Yeah....no it's not
The WNBA is the Bananball of Basketball-—And I like Bananaball because its fun, puts butts in the seats and lets guys that didn’t make the bigs for whatever reason get a check. And they are entertaining.
As for the WNBA? Sort of like watching hockey for the fights or auto racing for the wrecks...
