> hulks of dozens of World War II German battleships <

It’s a side point, but I guess the author has no idea what a “battleship” is.

Either that, or the crafty Nazis were somehow able to build battleships that could navigate long rivers.

If they are deliberately sunk ships, some opportunistic business person should be out there trying to salvage as much of that pre-nuke steel as possible, they aren’t war graves so it shouldn’t be an issue. great opportunity.

People bash Michigan all the time, some of it is well deserved. But remember, if times get really horrific we have the most fresh water in 50 light years. ;~)

I wonder how this is effecting those smaller river cruise companies? Kinda hard to take people down the Danube with no water in it.

I think it’s cool to be able to see what’s down there, though...

It does sound like a work-program, though. At least now you can haul off the bottom.

All that comes to my mind is, “Drain the rivers to check the status of the German Navy”.

Two major storms in the Atlantic are heading that way. Looks like they’ll get some rain.

The Rio Grande is also nothing now. I drive over it daily on my commute through Albuquerque. Depending on the bridge I use (I-40, Paseo del Norte, or Alameda), it looks to be bone dry or mostly dry with little rivulets that you could probably step over.

I'm sure all the leading headlines in Europe and msm in the U.S. start like this: "Climate Change has caused the Danube’s Water Level...

And every single sentence after that would have "climate change" in it:

"Climate change has caused he blue Danube to show its secrets. We have been reporting on Climate Change from hell, where b/c of Climate Change, they are battling high temperatures... wildfires, and droughts."

Meaning: The government has to step in and stop it.

You know Iran had a historic drought. But when they destroyed all the radars on the Gulf States the clouds opened up and the drought was over. Probably just a coincidence.

My wife and I have some friends that just returned from a cruise on the Danube that was booked last year. Several places, they had to exit the boat and take a bus to the next spot on the river where it was safe to navigate. They got a bunch of money refunded to them.
