Back in the day we used to make it a point to eat at Cracker Barrel.

Now it’s just another chain restaurant out on the interstate.

RE: Food Place.

1) a little too controversial sign content.

2) Is already going to be on the new Mamdani people’s revolutionary food outlet signs in New York City. With phonetic pronunciation guide under the words and Spanish and Arabic before the English words.

Double barreled surname with big, thick Karen glasses

This woke woman had red-flags all over the place.

Cracker Barrel's problem is that way too many millennials and younger hate on the baby boomer generation. CB is trying to gain market share in younger customers as many of their present customers are dying out.

The younger generation doesn't want to be reminded that prior generations had to work harder just to survive. The millennials want to pretend that they have it harder than anyone ever has. But catering to that market of customers alienates the ones who've kept CB up and running.

I would bet she never ate at any of the Cracker Barrel locations and certainly didn’t survey actual customers to know what they liked about the restaurant. You would think the Bud Lite fiasco would have been a wake up call to avoid being woke.

most importantly, was she there long enough to be handed her golden parachute before being shoved out of the airplane?

I used to enjoy Cracker Barrel, but I haven’t been back since the blasphemers removed pork chops from the breakfast menu.

No pork chops, no $$$ from Augie.

Screw em.

“Masino will remain at Cracker Barrel in an advisory capacity....”

“So, Julie, would you do A or B?”

“Oh, B, most definitely.”

“Great, A it is.”

Now maybe work on getting the food back to where one can taste it. The last time we went to CB I thought I was eating cardboard instead of a Ckn Fried steak.

That ‘Cracker Barrel make over controversy’ was about a year ago. If this CEO has managed to hang on through that tidal wave of bad publicity, I’m surprised she is just now deciding to leave the company, and is not trying to ride the storm out. Maybe most of her loyalist have already left the organization.

She forgot a business fundamental from Michael Jordan: Republicans buy sneakers too. Conservatives are more militant than they were 10-15 years ago and the conservative and alt-right media networks are stronger than when it was just Rush Limbaugh and some imitators contra mundum. The COVID scam, the BLM and Antifa riots, and the groveling much of corporate America, the Feds, and blue state governments did in the early years of this decade caused a backlash. Conservatives and other right wingers abandoned YouTube, Google, and the likes of Fox and the Salem Network for independent podcasters and blogs. Elon Musk purchasing what is now X compelled the giants to loosen their censorship to a degree.

What Cracker Barrel management did would have been OK if they worked for Starbucks or IKEA. Like Anheuser-Busch, management has been forced to spend huge amounts to try to recover market share.

People were calling her rebrand a “Woke” rebrand, but I think the reality is that she was turning Cracker Barrell into another cookie-cutter bland restaurant box. It wasn’t “Woke”; it was oppressive, stultifying, bland corporatism at its worse. Cracker Barrell as a gray box that looked like any other gray box restaurant or cell phone store for that matter.
