A family of seven who tucked into an expensive feast brazenly left an Orlando restaurant without paying, it has been claimed.
The group were caught on surveillance footage consuming a spread worth $300 before leaving @ The Diner, apparently without settling their hefty tab on Sunday.
The Florida restaurant is now seeking to identify the alleged dine-and-dashers, who are said to have taken off during its busiest shift of the day.
It wrote on Instagram that the family ordered multiple dishes and appeared to enjoy a leisurely meal before carrying out their premeditated escape in stages.
The restaurant, which shared footage of the incident, alleged that staff only realized what had happened after the group had already left the premises, leaving servers scrambling to work out what had gone wrong.
In the clip, a man wearing a white vest is seen leading the group’s exit, handing another woman in the group car keys as she slips away before pulling up in the getaway car outside.
Moments later, he quickly follows behind with a young boy in tow.
The clip shows the rest of the group remaining at the table, eagerly helping themselves to the extensive spread before another woman and a young girl make their move towards the exit.

my niece thru marriage is a raging lefty.
She sallied into healthcare and was absolutely stunned how her image of saintly, put up on blacks was challenged, again and again.
Quite an eye opener. Yeah, she’s still a lefty and worries about blacks way too much, still.
I AM AMAZED THAT THEY EVEN HAVE A C/C.
The buffets I used to go to charged you upfront. There was also an unspoken time limit on the more gluttonous guests.

That’s what I would do if I owned a restaurant. Require a card before being seated or served. Similar to checking in at a hotel.

I can definitely see where restaurants will require just running your credit card, like a hotel does, prior to taking your order.
Legal Seafood used to run your credit card when you ordered. I don’t know if they still do.

When dining outside of the family domicile, a fresh wifebeater undershirt is de rigueur.
US sleeveless undershirt = British vest
US vest = British waistcoat
My dear departed mother worked in the restaurant biz her whole life, she was the sweetest nicest hostess you'd ever want to meet, (truly). She made a very good living on tips as she worked in a high end dinner house with lots of big tippers. She also served the cocktails which always had the best tippers of all. The reputation for black folks being the worst tippers, and even non-tippers was true according to her experience, and not just a trope as many of the defenders of minorities will claim.
At least get a credit card # or a cash deposit before letting them feed their fat selves.
Problem is then they’d have to do it for everyone while pretending it isn’t a certain group of people.
