California passes law to ensure your child is taught by a ‘natural human,’ not AI

California is drawing a line in the digital sand.

Starting 2027, public schools in the Golden State can’t have AI teachers for K-12 students.

The latest amendment to the state’s education code, signed by Gov. Gavin Newsom last month, clarifies that all staff and contractors recruited by public schools should be “natural people.”

Assembly Bill 2148 says that while AI can still be used as a supplemental learning tool like a tutoring software, the actual legal “employee” or “contractor” delivering instruction and services must be a human.

The original bill proposed a blanket ban on using AI and educational technology in public schools but lawmakers later toned it down a bit, saying that only humans can be hired to educate and support California’s K-12 public school students.

“We unfortunately have arrived at a point in the history of humankind where we need to define educators as human beings.,” the bill’s author, Assemblymember Al Muratsuchi (D-Torrance) had said earlier this year.

He said that the proposal stems from the “dramatic rise” of AI and it’s unknown impact on the future of education.

There is no such thing as a “natural human” in America. All edu-walkers in America have been programmed and brainwashed by evil “teachers” and “perfesers”.

I think it’s an attempt to give a new technology oversight, so that it doesn’t end in disaster. That being said, it also looks like it’s a reason to keep payments going to the teachers union.....

“California human teachers are at root, indoctrinators.
An AI teacher might slip up and teach the truth rather than the State propaganda”

So....being the person with similar thoughts, I queried AI. ChatGPT says that AI isn’t really allowed to change without supervision. It’s done that way to prevent an single influential mind from effecting it to much. Yes, it’s a control placed by the people that monitor AI and created it. Most of those are going to be left wing nuts. Therefore, you can expect that AI will continue to slant left like the teachers in California.

Take “her” out on the playground and dismantle her or put her in “shop” class for dismantling in higher grades....probably would result in prison sentence.

When the Robots transition to ‘natural humans’ there won’t be any biological humans left. Hope it’s not to soon, but potentially it’s inevitable.

Just Big Union protecting that dues revenue.

Yes, of course. But if has the added benefit of making sure the teachers have children to abuse.

If 2 chinese robots sneak into the US and have a baby robot, does that make the baby robot eligible to vote here but not teach in California?

Would be good if they would really do this, because it would exclude all of the "trans gender" and homosexual people. They won't do it.

The real irony is they define a “natural human” but cannot define a man and a woman.

“There is more to AI life than ChatGPT”

Absolutely! I just had it on my phone and could voice ask it the process. Clearly, I thought it was learning by itself, but it’s ‘Updates’ and ‘Code changes’ driven by a group and not ‘experience related’.

The term ‘natural human’ is actually a legal term that’s been around for a very long time. I find it Ironic that we can understand what a ‘natural human’ is but not know what a man and woman are legally.

People surgically modified to a different gender need not apply!

“...but some of the real teachers are worse...”

This bill doesn’t change a thing. For Governor Gavin Newsom, a “natural person” is defined strictly as a living human being, specifically in contrast to artificial intelligence or automated systems. Who programed the computer instruction being used over the last 30 years, at least, if it wasn’t human and used for instruction even to the point of the teachers allowing the computer to do all the work? And during the school closures with covid, I didn’t see anything about the classroom instruction not being left to home computers.

The only difference between computer and live teacher instruction is the ability of the live teacher to go unchecked in their job many times overstepping their authority or knowledge and presenting a personal opinion rather than approved school instructional materials and theories. At least with AI, the instruction can, in their capacity, be limited to the approved standards-aligned lessons as long as the instructors do not vary from the acceptable creation. At least they started with something the parents could evaluated and determine it’s validity. Otherwise it’s “teachers gone wild” if they are not in line with their district or even school accepted ideology with the ability to go off script.
