I STRONGLY DISAGREE. I bought a new Glock 19 and it perpetually malfunctioned. Failure to load and eject was the issue. I was told to clean it. I did exactly to the manual specs, dozens of times. I was told to buy new magazines for it, I did. It was sent in for warranty and came back with the same issues. I was told to break it in with 300 rounds. After 600 rounds I traded it in for a S&W 10mm.
The S&W 10 MM has never had any issues, neither has my 1911, XD 40 or my Sig 365. The Glock 19 was the only weapon I’ve ever owned that was a perpetual piece of cow manure. I will say that it was extremely accurate whenever it did decide to work.
And now for those telling my I was doing something wrong, for a Glock is God’s gift to mankind.
Same thing happened to me. I used to have a nice compact little Smith 60 in 38/357. Served me well in many outdoor adventures!

If I were ever to purchase a gun, which of course I never have or intend to, Officer, I'd be taking all my advice from the experts on YooToob. According to them, you can purchase a pump action shotgun and you don't even need any ammo, you just rack the slide and every crook in hearing distance flees in terror. Or you can have a Sig P320 and give it to the assailant and tell him what it is. He'll be whimpering when the police show up.

I bought it new in 87,88? whatever year it hit the market. Never had the first problem with it. I have fired various brands of 9mm through it with out fail, not once. It’s my tack driver. There never were many after market add-ons. Some but not many. I did buy fiber optic front and rear sights some years back that I will change out soon. The old sights have faded along with my vision. I also bought a spare barrel a few years back just in case. I think Crimson Trace still markets a hand grip laser for it. I never added it to mine. It’s heavy compared to modern firearms. I’m a big guy with big hands so its a good fit for me and easy to keep stable while cycling. If I was presented with another one, I’d buy it.
John Garand originally designed it for a .270 caliber cartridge and a 10-round clip. The Army said "we have an absolute crap-ton of .30 M2 Ball laying around, redesign it to use that". So he did. Because "Yes sir, thank you sir, may I have another?" And it worked just fine for the kind of fighting that was done in WWII. And in Korea.
As for Viet Nam and more recent ... there are combat veterans on this forum on both sides of the 7.62NATO vs 5.56NATO argument.

I have been pocket carrying a S&W 342PD 5 shot 38SP +P with 2 6-shot Bianchi speed strips for 25 years. Weighs less than 11oz and I sometimes forget I’m carrying it. It took a while to get used to the recoil, but I can group at less than 4 inches at 10yds.
So does it have a plastic frame with metal revolver and barrel?
Sounds very light.
Scandium/Aluminum frame and Titanium cylinder, pre-lock. They they only made them between 2000 and 2004. You can still find them used, but at a premium.
