The splash page came up.

And then in dawned on me:

Free Republic is 30 years old this year!

Another ‘98er here. I practically lived on this website during the Impeachment days of yore.

I used to post on my local newspaper comment board and I needed a link the Juanita Broaddrick Dateline Transcript to post on the "Red Star" comments. Free Republic had it and other great articles "archived." After I brought it up so many times with link saying they were afraid to mention it the local newspaper actually responded to the Juanita Broaddrick story with an editorial called "Scandal Weary." They were just so weary of Clinton scandals they couldn't write about this one! That was the response!

Eventually the newspaper deleted all the comments and shut down the board. All the stories disproved by their own comment board suddenly became true again!

I stopped lurking and started posting here.
