Of the couple hundred whiskeys, ryes, and scotches I have on my shelves, I always come back to just one: Woodford Reserve Double Oaked. That stuff is heaven sent.
Jack Daniel’s is disgusting. Anyone still drinking that swill doesn’t know anything about good whiskey.
My favorite is Freemont Distillery John Jacob Rye. Although it recently changed hands, and it remains to be seen if they will maintain the quality.
Wild Turkey is as good as Bourbon gets.

Leipers Fork Distillery is in my neighborhood, and is a nice little distillery. I bought some of their bourbon in order to. make vanilla (I actually drink very little, but as a baker use a LOT of vanilla).
It is might fine vanilla!
People who claim to know what I don’t know invariably are wrong.
