The United States men’s soccer team is using the World Cup to demonstrate their faith to the world.

After a crucial 2-0 win over Australia on Friday, the team gathered in the center of Lumen Field in Seattle for what was evidently a huddle of prayer — led by one of its most outspoken believers.

And the whole world was watching.

VIDEO AT LINK................

At the center of the circle was Mark McKenzie, a defender and very public espouser of the Christian faith, on a team that already has no shortage of the faithful.

How can there be Christians in a satanic sport?

They can pray for victory, but nothing is going to make Americans watch soccer.

But they weren't praying for victory; that's obvious because the prayer is after the game.

In any case, Christian athletes, I believe, do not pray for victory, but rather than Christ will be glorified by their actions and that people will see Christ in them, regardless of winning or losing.

Respectfully, you’re living in the past on this...the MLS games are full, English Premiere viewership continues to grow, and the sports bars are packed with people to watch the USMNT play in the World Cup.

It’s one of the few times we all come together to cheer on our country. It’s a good time, I recommend finding a spot at a good place and enjoy it.

BTW - the USA has talent this time, it’s not the usual story.

I’m going guess that soccer is going to be denounced as racist now.

“nothing is going to make Americans watch soccer.”

19.7 million US children are Hispanic. Watch the ratings for Telemundo which wall to wall is Futbol in Spanish this summer.

But then, watch Fernando Mendoza and the Las Vegas Raiders at the end of the summer and see the love for the other football.

Forty years ago, my young children played soccer. At the season opening parents meeting for all sports in a large community organization, the leader said that they were looking for more fathers to coach soccer and more boys to play football. My children are not Hispanic, nor were there many in that area at the time. Soccer looks like a fun game to play but not to watch. I am not much of a sports watcher of any type. The people who have played soccer seem to enjoy watching it.

They can pray for victory, but nothing is going to make Americans watch soccer.

Almost 30 million people watched the first USA game, higher ratings than the NBA title clinching Game 5 and the MLB World Series.

First soccer game I've ever watched.

Not nearly as boring as I had thought.

Although the game clock thing is weird - how come the only person who knows how much time is left in the game is the referee?
