I believe this sucker was offered 10 years for a guilty plea. But that meant his family would have to return the money they had grifted. So they convinced him to take his chances at the trial. Well, 33 years for him, his family keeps the money, and now he has no cash to spend on an appeal. This is all broken on so many levels.

As i understand it, that 600 thousand was raised to pay for initial legal costs and relocating his family for their own safety as they were getting many threats. But that money has been indeed depleted. Now that hes dealing with appeals, he just doesnt have the funds left over for a lawyer
The givesendgo was to help his family cope, it says in the article. His family walked out of his sentencing. Hopefully they put some money on his books so he can buy ramen noodles and snack food to trade for protection. If he doesn’t have any snacks he is going to be utilized shall we say.
