A plane hit a radar pole at a Turkish airport on Thursday, frightening its 267 passengers as the aircraft taxied to its gate.
The Turkish Airlines Boeing 777 had departed Istanbul and landed at Antalya Airport when its right wing smashed into the pole, the New York Post reported Friday.
Video footage showed the plane surrounded by emergency vehicles as the passengers exited, and the jet appeared to have a huge hole in its side:

Let’s not give him any ideas now.
Seems the taxiway was too narrow for the 777 - maybe they thought if they had enough forward momentum....
Gee, this runway sure is short!..........But look how damn wide it is!..................
It isn’t really a Boeing problem. It is bone-head pilots. But, Boeing might be able to make several thousand dollars off an appropriated car accessory.
I used to work for a company that was started by a bunch of retired Lockheed engineers. They had worked on the C5 project. One of those birds was wrecked when the pilot landed on a short private runway that was in line but ten miles from their intended Air Force runway. According to the flight recorder the pilot said, “F@@%, that doesn’t look like 5,000 feet!”
Those guys told another story about a C-130 that came up from Honduras to Marietta for an upgrade. The pilot complained that the aircraft kept surging nose-up/nose-down throughout the entire flight. It was carrying a tanker fire truck that was loaded with water.
“They sure gave Armenians the works!”
That’s nobody’s business but the Turks.
The plane was on a taxi way too narrow for that aircraft.
Either a wrong turn by the crew or wrong directions by the controller
I hate jagoffs who purposely creep into your blind spots and then keep pace with you as if it is some sort of game, don’t you?
I love how everyone ignores the part where the tower directed the pilot to use that particular runway.
Yep, but they can’t do that with these modern cars without you seeing them....................
,,, just looking at that clip on post#3... that 777 isn’t dressed up in Turkish livery. Maybe they were leasing it or maybe it isn’t in the Turkish Airlines fleet. I think the 777 hull is carbon fibre - is there a repair standard for that or does the plane get written off with a gash that size?
Don’t really know...............Buy a big tub of Bondo?................
