The Shell station at 4357 W. Belmont Ave., near Kostner, will be giving out gas for less than $2 a gallon as part of a limited-time promotion.
A Chicago gas station will offer gas for just $1.99 per gallon for several hours Tuesday.
The Shell station at 4357 W. Belmont Ave., near Kostner, will be giving out gas for less than $2 a gallon as part of a limited-time promotion.
The discount will be available from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
It's part of a promotional partnership with T-Mobile, the company said. The location will undergo a makeover before the deal begins.
"As fuel costs remain an important part of many household budgets here in Chicago, T-Mobile is teaming up with longtime T-Mobile Tuesday’s partner Shell to help drivers save at the pump," the wireless provider said in a statement.
The $1.99 price was the average cost of a gallon of gas at the time T-Mobile launched its "T-Mobile Tuesdays" membership deals program 10 years ago, the company said.
The gas will only be available on a first-come, first-served basis and will be open to anyone, "regardless of wireless provider."
According to the companies, the deal will be limited to one vehicle per person "while supplies last," but RVs, boats, fuel cans, freight trains and vocation trucks are not eligible.
"Vehicles can start arriving at 9:30 a.m., and, if needed, the line will be cut off in the afternoon as the end of the deal approaches," the companies said.
