We were having some big rains, and I lived in a low-lying area. There was one road I had to cross to get to work and obviously the person who crossed slightly before I did, moved the ‘Deep Water! Turn Back!’ sign...and I drove right into the deep water.

Very scary, but both the car and I were OK - once we dried out, LOL!

I also got to be on TV. Not my proudest moment...

I lived in Phoenix for a short time, and certain intersections would flood during monsoon season. People would regularly get stuck in the water, which was sometimes over 3 feet deep. If your engine aspirates water, it’s destroyed.

The most egregious incident I saw was in New Mexico, where some kid drove a Jeep Cherokee into some water that ended up being about 5 feet deep. When I passed by there was a crowd of people standing around and the only part of the vehicle sticking out of the water was the light bar on the roof. I learned the details later from a friend of mine who worked in public safety, so he knew the whole story.

let the concrete harden then send the idiot the total bill for removing the car, tearing out concrete and replacing...

let them deal with the drive train and steering that is all cement.

I was placing a 2.5 mile concrete tank road at Fort Riley and a Private reporting to his new duty assignment followed his orders and did the same by driving around barricades with his pickup truck Buried in 10” mix to the frame. My paving contractor pilled him out had a crane nearby suspended him in the sir and water blasted his truck fully clean. He then went to the kid’s unit commander and asked the commander to allow for the kid’s efforts to prowrly report and let him off without punishment.

cut the slab out with the car still in it and display it next to the highway with a sign saying: “This is what happens when you ignore road signs” ...

Nissans are trouble. They should have never re-branded away from Datsun. Datsuns were respectable.
