I've noticed that user ransomnote ( https://freerepublic.com/tag/by:ransomnote/index?tab=comments;brevity=full;options=no-change ) publishes numerous X posts every day.
I work with AI every day, and it feels like maybe he's just set up an AI agent/bot to pull from X and share on FR throughout the day. Kinda weird.
I asked him about it in a comment, and he didn't reply.
I don't want to be the blog police. But I was curious if FReepers are OK that an increasing number of FR posts are simply shared from X. Or if we'd prefer that news articles from online publications are shared instead.
I've been here a while, so I figured I earned the right to ask the question.

He’s sus.
As are most of the high volume opers.
“You should ask for this nonsense thread to be pulled, Theo.”
Nah. It’s a good conversation to have, as shown by your participation.
Agreed.
Interesting that some here posting that have no problem with X have posted fake news here from X.
I’m not saying that ransomnote isn’t real. I’m saying that the real person ransomnote appears to have coded an AI bot/agent to publish X posts on FR. And that maybe there’s more value in discussing a fully fleshed out news article than talking about a tweet.
Agreed.
No, “blog pimping” isn’t what concerns me. Maybe read my original post again. It seems you didn’t understand it.
FR is crawling with blog pimps these days.
“... breaking your OPUS ...”
I have no idea what you’re trying to say.
You’d rather discuss news immediately, even in the fog of war, even when there’s ambiguity and even deception.
There is a place, though, for discussing a long-form researched news/opinion piece.
That was me. Not sure why you’re bring that up, but ... thanks, I guess?
It’s come to my attention that ransomnote is a woman.
I humbly apologize for using the masculine pronoun, rather than the correct feminine pronoun.
Here is the Elephant in the room no one is considering with logic. CONSERVATIVE sources for content are extremely rare. X is just one of those very few. Would you rather she went and got content from CNN, MSNBC, or Al Jazeera?
We don’t have much to draw from out there so we have to take what we CAN get or we would not be getting much at all.
And just how does one determine in this case what is the truth? IMO, it is by developing an effective frame of reference from as many sources as practical, by conducting research in a manner similar to a private "brainstorm" with a heavy dose of critical thinking.
Theo poses the question: ...if we'd prefer that news articles from online publications are shared instead.
One could argue there is little difference between what one might read on X and what is generally offered by the MSM. The exception, of course, would be if the publication cites authorities or is peer reviewed. In any event, we are all responsible for conducting our own verification process with our own computers.
Sure, n00b.
Post a list of all of these “FR Blog Pimps”.
“...that an increasing number of FR posts are simply shared from X.”
What is the problem. Plainly labeled as X. People here post from leftists sites with their progaganda framed as news.
That's it, read "The Moon Is a Harsh Mistress" and study Mycroft Holmes, a real AI character. . Or read The Adolescence of P-1.
Yes, I misunderstood.
Honestly, it doesn’t bother me at all. I like to see as wide a variety of articles as I can find. It’s not like FR is publishing original material.
There are plenty of other sources that post junk.
I think we can all assess this stuff pretty quickly. If it is not worth your time, that is evident after reading a few lines.
That’s where you use multiple sources. The news form MSM can no longer be considered reliable so multiple sources are required anyway.
