In recent days, Twitter trolls have formed a phalanx and pointed their sarissas squarely at “The Odyssey,” Christopher Nolan’s $250 million adaptation of Homer’s epic scheduled to hit cinemas July 17. They have not actually seen the film yet, mind you, but have nevertheless managed to work themselves into a lather over a pair of castings (though Page’s character isn’t even confirmed yet): Elliot Page as Achilles’ Ghost and Lupita Nyong’o as Helen of Troy.

It was actually the other way around. The real Achilles was a draft dodger who hid out among the women to avoid going to Troy. It was the clever Odysseus who found him out when it was noticed that one of the women preferred playing with a sword instead of the usual women’s’ things. Another interesting point which comes the same legend is a hint that Achilles had red hair since the name he adopted as a women meant the red-haired one.

Supposedly you have to have “diversity” to even be eligible. Truth is Oscars mean nothing to anyone except Hollywood types.
Hollywood isn’t artistic anymore. The special effects are great, but the quality of most everything else has declined. The more AI they get, the less an Oscar is worth.
This isn’t just about “having a diverse cast,” this is about Replacement Theory in culture. Not just eradicating white people in the here and now, but erasing them from the past as well. Once the Left is finished, you’ll never know there even was such a race, other than as slave-owners in the South.

I stopped reading here, as the author treats as absurd two critical sins of DEI. Grimm's story describes Snow White as having skin "White as snow." The only "Blacks" described by Tolkien were Orcs, although he also described dark skinned Haradrim (or Southrons), clearly Arabs. He described Elves as "fair-skinned, tall, and exceptionally beautiful." None had dark skin.
I’m waiting on a handful of technically savvy Hollywood types to make an entire full-length cinema quality movie using nothing but AI.
All the Actors are AI generated and resemble no know current actors, the dialog is generated from the script.
An intermediate step might be to license the actor’s images and use nothing but AI to create the movie using AI generated images of Tom Hanks and the words being spoken are all AI generated, no actors are actually being used.
Think of all the names that are listed at the end of every movie, reduce that number by 90% and I wonder what would happen to the cost of movie production and would the movies be watchable.
Think of something like Saving Private Ryan using the same actors except they are all AI generated and all the scenes are AI generated. I’m actually surprised something like this hasn’t already happened.
Orson Welles as Othello was fantastic as Othello. The race of the performer matters less to me than the quality of the performance.

This black girl who is going to play Helen looked like a poster girl for starving kids in Africa when she won the Oscar a few years back.
