THEY KILLED THE GOLDEN GOOSE: WNBA Mental Midgets Beatdown and Destroyed Caitlin Clark’s Career – Now They’re Begging to Get People in the Stands with Free Hot Dogs and a Bag of Chips

It’s safe to say the WNBA is the most toxic and dysfunctional professional sports league in US history.

And the league is incapable of learning from its mistakes. As Joe Hoft reported earlier this year, Caitlin Clark was injurted in the 2026 pre-season opener for the Indianapolis Fever.

They had their golden goose, and they ran it over. To date, rather than provide officiating that was fair and protected Clark, the league allowed women in the league to pull, push, hit, poke, hammer, and totally abuse Clark. The beatings and abuse took their toll. No one could have put up with what Clark endured.

Watching Clark’s games in the WNBA was not any fun. Fans found themselves yelling at the refs and the league throughout her games. Clark was hammered by jealous players and no fouls were called. When Caitlin Clark complained, she received a technical foul. The WNBA is a sick joke.

The WNBA went on to physically break Caitlin Clark. It appeared that they wanted to destroy their golden goose, Caitlin Clark, and they did.

But no matter what they did, they couldn’t stop her. Here is Clark scoring 9 points in less than a minute in a game last year.

Via Dave Portnoy.

Clark, the greatest scorer and point producer when adding in points off of assists, was the best women’s basketball player in NCAA history. She crushed NCAA scoring records, and she brought a fan base bigger than any women’s basketball player in US history with her to the WNBA two years ago. Clark went on to break the WNBA’s single-season assist record and was one shy of tying the season 3-point record.

Unfortunately, the WNBA has been horrible to her since her arrival, constantly trying to downplay her greatness and compare girls without her talent or records to her.

In this series in a game last year, Clark was poked in the eye by the opposing player after grabbing and pulling Clark all game long. Then the opposing player assaulted her and pushed her. Clark tried to get away but another opponent punched Clark in the back and then another player crashed Clark to the floor. None of Clark’s teammates stood up for her when this happened.

You get the picture.

Now, as the 2026 season is ready to take off – It appears Caitlin Clark is not.

Clark is injured again.

And now the league must figure out a way to fill the seats at the games after they destroyed their Golden Goose.

The future looks bleak for the WNBA.

Things are so bad the Indiana Fever is luring fans to games with free chips!

This will not end well.

Clark got a significant increase from previous years.

You think her WNBA salary means anything to her actual income?

“...they would have women playing alongside the men...”

It’s just the science and many people don’t understand the differences. That experiment has failed many times. The sport is a full body sport that nowadays requires body parts that differ greatly especially at the NBA level. You start off with the obvious:

Women’s and men’s bodies differ physically in composition, skeletal structure, and physiology, driven by hormonal and genetic factors. Men generally have higher muscle mass, greater bone density, and higher metabolic rates, while women typically have a higher body fat percentage, wider hips, and specialized reproductive anatomy. With today’s game, women players would be knocked in the third row every time they enter the game. They aren’t big or strong enough to play with the men. And the separation of being able to combine in most cases happens starting in high school.

Key figures regarding women and NBA tryouts/drafts:

Ann Meyers (1979): Signed a $50,000 no-cut contract with the Indiana Pacers and participated in their rookie camp. She lasted a week before she was cut.

https://www.dailymotion.com/video/xauxe9

Lusia Harris (1977): Selected 137th overall by the New Orleans Jazz, making her the first and only woman officially drafted by an NBA team. She did not try out because she was pregnant.

Denise Long (1969): Selected by the San Francisco Warriors in the 13th round, but the pick was voided by NBA Commissioner Walter Kennedy because it came out it was a publicity stunt and the league didn’t want to be ridiculed.

To my knowledge, no other woman has physically tried out for an NBA team. And many times the men are not big enough to compete. I supervised a troop in the air force that was 6’8” but officially 6’7” for enlistment purposes. He had played for the rainbows in Hawaii. Our boss ask him why he didn’t go pro right after he got back from all services competition and I told her he wasn’t big enough. She was under the assumption because he was tall he was competitive. He immediately agreed with me that he needed possible 30 more pounds of muscle bulk to start. And he obviously could play as he was guarding many talented troops during the all service as one was a guy from the Navy team named David Robinson.

“You think her WNBA salary means anything to her actual income?”

But it does to the players on other teams that compete with her especially when she gets the big endorsement offers because of her notoriety. She could have gone overseas and played for more money and better enticements. It cost the WNBA a good amount to get her. Her salary for 2026 is $528,846 when the national average for women in the US is $57,096. Yes, it means something to her. She makes about a third of A’ja Wilson’s salary of $1.4M. Clark isn’t even the highest paid player on the Fever as Kelsey Mitchell is paid more.

But players on other teams don’t look at it that way. Clark is getting the ink. And that’s why she is getting hammered and the league doesn’t know what to do about it. They want the contact like the men offer but they can’t establish rules pertaining to specific players for protection. And after 44 regular season games and playoffs, she is going to get bruise even if they don’t target her for taking out of their pockets for play and endorsements. The men have it made financially. The women are hustling for money in a league that has failed historically without the speed, size, contact, and individuality of players of their men counterparts. Dog eat dog.

Was talking about her no one else. She is not motivated by her MNBA salary was my point. I will leave it to you to decide what her real motivation is.

“I will leave it to you to decide what her real motivation is.”

Who, hers, or the women in the league that are causing injuries to her and stopping the selling out of areas she plays in? She is one of the meal tickets for the league as she sells out arenas with her playing appearances.

https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/caitlin-clark-effect-resulted-39-073001708.html

Take those out by putting her on the bench, and the league is another step forward to folding. And there are many problems why, but her situation is one of them. And it is not being done by the league or the paying customers. It is being done by the players. An old saying I remember from learning in my youth was you don’t skit where you eat. And in her situation, that’s exactly what they are doing. And it’s stupid.

“Was talking about her no one else.”

You can’t when she is not the cause of the problem other than being successful at what she does. And the Fever with her playing are causing many situations in the league when she is expected to play. From the article I gave you:

Some teams already share arenas, but others are reworking their stadium plans solely for the games when Clark and the Fever arrive. Several teams already shared an arena with the NBA team from the same city and this rings true once again in 2026. There are a handful of teams who have switched to WNBA stadiums when Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever are in town.

So her being on the floor causes those several teams to switch to their arenas for play just because of the Fever coming to town. Thus is she having a lack of effect on the league? And wouldn’t you say injuring her and keeping her off the floor is a problem to the WNBA? Dollar signs say yes. Player jealousy and stupidity say otherwise. The problem isn’t hers.

I don't know what I said that makes you think I am in disagreement with what you said in this post.

Before Caitlin I had never watched but 2 basketball games since I graduated High School 70 years ago. Both of those games were the Harlem Globe Trotters, but I watch Caitlin.

“I don’t know what I said that makes you think I am in disagreement with what you said in this post.”

I didn’t understand your entry. Whose motivation are you asking me about? If it was hers, I believe her motivation is to compete and make money. Doesn’t every one? If not, they are slowing their lives. If it is the motivation of the people that are hammering her, they are jealous and catty...immature. If it’s the league, they are trying to maintain their own identity next to the NBA where the only difference between the two leagues is the amount and intensity of the violence. What are you asking or wish me to do?

I just made the point that her WNBA salary was hardly significant in her overall earning potential.

“...her WNBA salary was hardly significant in her overall earning potential...”

I agree with that. But it is used by the players and fans as a determination of the ability of the player and becomes a benchmark of the worth they are to the league. And it’s the petty ego trip the players are having with her. She has been in the league two years, now in her third, and she has become the face of the league while many of the main stars have been in it. Catty league.
