Statues are not in and of themselves idols. They have to be made for idolatrous purposes in order to be so, or treated as such.

No one is worshiping this. Or the statues of Grant, Keys, Ghandi etc sitting around San Francisco. Gavin Newsom’s bust as well as many other mayors’ busts are at City Hall. They aren’t idols for Pete’s sake.
