I have tried to go to Facebook on both my computer and my phone. Both are asking me to either use Passkey or click for another method of verification in order to verify my account. When I clicked for another method all I get is a BLANK screen. Okay, after a few tries I figured this would mean having to download another app but I did it just to get into Facebook. So what happened? The downloaded app said I would get a 3 day free trial and then I would be charged. Um, no thanks. Oh, and is Facebook making money from this scam?

Why do you want to enrich lawyers, knowing that plaintiffs get nothing?
How do you get the 6 digit code because now I am again locked out of FB and I don’t see no code.
Really? So since I supposedly got nothing from several class action lawsuits should I send my money back?
android is not recognizing my names and passwords since last evening. I dont know what is going on.
I have to log on into everything including fR
So I have downloaded the password key. Then I clicked on Facebook and it asks me for my 6 digit key. Problem is I don’t see that key anywhere. Anyway, why is it that for YEARS I have gotten into FB with NO problem and suddenly THIS happens? I’m sure I’m not the only one.
Did those suits have anything to do with volcanoes you like to vlog about?
Okay, so now it says I created a passkey for Meta but I STILL don’t see the 6 digit code anywhere. I just tells me I created a passkey which I can’t see.
I have not noticed any difficulty on desktop and laptop. I rarely access FB on my phone.
Android/Facebook password hacks are reported in response to a query but relatively long ago - months, not days.
What volcanoes? Anyway, the way the class action lawsuits usually work is the lawyers get 1/3 and the plaintiffs get 2/3. So I don't know what planet you live on where the lawyers get all and the plaintiffs nothing.
First problem you want to back yourself out of is whatever app you downloaded - no paid app required to use passkeys. Second problem is to back yourself out of using passkeys on Facebook, which is not required. You should triple check your were actually trying to log into Facebook and not phished via a bogus link.
Go open Facebook.com in an incognito window, login, if it is asking for a six digit code, it is is gonna email it or text it to you. A passkey is like a thousand digits, and not something you ever see or enter.
I have never used FB but see if this helps any

I had to download an authenticator for certain games that require 2fa. The authenticator requires an original one-time code to set up then whenever I want to log in I have to request a 6-digit auth number to send to the game.
So, you see a code.
Here’s a novel idea: Don’t use Facebook.
It’s actually a way for big tech to capture biometric data - fingerprints, facial recognition, iris scans, etc.
Sounds like it wants 2 factor authentication from an authenticator app. Free from Microsoft; not sure if Cisco (Duo) is free or not, I prefer it to Microsoft. I think Google has one and since they already have all your personal data, no loss in using them.
Exactly.....never have and this is reason #186 I never will.
If you have a cell phone, and they have your number they will text you the passcode, Or if you have an e-mail that you used to sign up, they will email the passcode to your e-ail. then open the text/email and the 6 digit number should be there. Then input that number on the sign-in to facebook and you should be good to go.
I use an open source 2fa app on my PC called Winauth for all my codes. Not sure if it has an app for phone? But best to me is it is open source and portable, just a right click for a new 6 digit code.

So long as the OS on your phone or Pc is up to date, passkey support is built-in to the OS or even your web browser (if it’s also up to date)
Passkeys get assigned for each device and should be accessible either by re-logging into your OS/phone with the pin/password or using faceID/touchid.
That said, I’m not fan either and am purposely dragging my heels on it with Amazon which is currently the only site nagging me.
