If you didn’t grow up during the Draft while there was a war going on, I have no sympathy for you.

“no advice for GenX for 3 reasons:”

1. “They don’t need it. the most self sufficient generation in history.:
2. “IF she had something to tell them, they wouldn’t care.”
3. “Even if they DID care, they wouldn’t admit it.”

and lots more...

Because we grew up doing life on our own. We didn’t need helicopter parents, they were busy working. Participation trophies weren’t invented yet, we earned whatever we got and found solace in our successes. We also found wisdom in our setbacks, got back up, dusted off and gave it another go. We enjoyed good relations with every race we met and really didn’t have all the sex hangups the newly indoctrinated generations seem to have. Ymmv.

Love the one comment to the video: Generation X is the generation that tends to say “we saw that shit coming”. Lot of truth to that. (Besides ‘whatever’)

That was the other funny but true observation.

Actually, I WAS alive during that.. but was too young. My dad, was old enough, and went into the service to avoid the draft, to the Navy, back, I believe in 1961. He became one of the first Navy SEALs, before they had a name (ended up being called "Snake Eaters", at that time). I went on to go through 2 branches of service.. USAF, and then US Army.

Don't know if you ever served... but you have NO position to say SHIT about me.
I volunteered to serve .. X2 ..
Can you say the same thing?

BTW, I also started computers before there WAS any DOS or Windows (or Apple)..

I get the idea that you may be older than me... but that doesn't give you any superiority.
Not all of us are stupid, although, it DOES seem that FR has been taken over by TDSers, Libertarians, anti-Semites, Zeepers, and whatever other anti-conservatives possible there are...

(Am on WinBlows, so don't have access to my VK ping list (on my LINUX OS).. but will ping them as soon as I am back on there.

OH!!!!!!!!!!!!! BTW
I DID also put my life on the line.. Been through IRAQ and Afghanistan... Was not the jungle of Vietnam... but... KMA and FAFO...

I did more than serve.
I left my blood on the ground.

I understand that (what you are saying)..
My grandparents didn't have the luxury of electricity (as an example).. NOTHING was as simple as it is today (or even when I was young).

At least, back then, pretty much everything was American made, and lasted for generations. (Heck, a toaster, or anything else, lasted for generations...
Now, you are lucky if it lasts a year ("Made in China")

Yep. Most of our free time was spent outdoors. The adventures shared with any other kid that also happened to be around. Pick up games for everything, with anyone.

But at the same time, there was work to be done. Helping dad tear things apart, repair or remodel. Yards to mow to make a little money. Same with walks to shovel. The downtime was precious though and we made every minute of it count.

You lost the argument already...

I also served, and lost friends on the battlefield.

What can you give me? You want to compete for friend's brains on your sleeve?
Been there, done that.. still have nightmares.

What else do you want?

BTW, I went through 2 years of physical therapy.. and about every other year, I still have to go through it all again.

A 40 foot fall from a chopper... They said I should have died when it happened.

BUT, I was born a Texan, and we are stubborn as they come.. We get back up and try again.

I hold it against no one, everyone makes their own choices in life... but, anyone that challenges me that hasn't been through at least 2 branches of service, to protect our own rights to be American, I have no respect.

Actually.. reminds me of when my dad had to work extra hours (I think I was about 3 or 4 years old... still remember it, believe it or not).. was around Christmas, and had some helicopter with flashing lights (all tin)..
First thing I did, was break it apart to see the inners... and then put it back together again. I think that was around 1972, or so.

I honestly still remember that.

I said you’ll get no SYMPATHY from me.
Sympathy and respect are two different things.
Have a nice day.
