Actually, I WAS alive during that.. but was too young. My dad, was old enough, and went into the service to avoid the draft, to the Navy, back, I believe in 1961. He became one of the first Navy SEALs, before they had a name (ended up being called "Snake Eaters", at that time). I went on to go through 2 branches of service.. USAF, and then US Army.
