Every competent investor in the history of capital markets has made money using it. Information theory research estimates that human senses gather roughly 11 million bits of data per second from the environment, whereas the conscious mind processes only about 50. Here is the question polite society has decided is too dangerous to pose: Does applying this universal cognitive faculty to demographic data constitute racism, or does refusing to examine that data constitute intellectual cowardice?

A "racist" used to be someone who didn't like members of a different race or who thought his own race was superior to others. Nowadays, you're a racist if you enjoy hiking and camping, try to maintain a healthy body mass, engage in calisthenics, play tennis, study math and/or geology, maintain a manicured lawn, belong to a nuclear family, use the expression "cotton-pickin'" or eat chicken and waffles.

There are “leads” then “evidence” then “proof” then “conviction”.
Not all leads are evidence. Not all evidence is proof. Not all proof is conviction.

In many parts of our lives, we play the odds. The odds are a person who is recommended by my pastor and displays certain behavior can be trusted with money in the cash register.

IQ tests are more general than that, covering reading comprehension, ability to infer meaning from literature, mathematics, spacial relations and other forms of perception or intellect.
Up until 2023, when it became politically incorrect to measure advanced aptitudes for college admission, there was a specific test for pattern recognition called the Miller Analogies Test. Some people scored in different percentiles on the Miller vs an IQ test, it is that specific an aptitude.

Wow. Looking at the pictures, I’m recognizing a pattern. The only two that looked like a good idea to me were women who killed men who were in the act of abusing them.
I realize that many Freepers have soured on Ann Coulter but she stated this some time back. I the news does not mention the ethnicity of the perp, 99.99 percent of the time it is either black, a Muslim, or a black Muslim.
The article is very shallow and makes one statistical point on crime and then nothing else, runs as fast as it can to the end. Nothing about other racial groups murder rates to use as something to check how the rest of American society is doing.
