He snatched the youngster while delivering a Barbie to her home that was to be one of her main festive gifts. Horner told investigators that he accidentally hit the girl with his truck, 'panicked,' grabbed her, and put her in his vehicle.
Fearing what would happen if he told Strand's parents, he said strangled her inside the truck and dumped her body seven miles from her home, beside a country road. Her body was found two days later.

This is absolutely horrible.
If the man had any shred of decency left he would accept the death penalty as the only appropriate sentence.
Instead he will probably outlive me.
I suspect if we were to show that B&W picture of the guy driving to 100 people of all races with no context of why we were asking, I wouldn’t even blink if all 100 people said they thought it was a black male.
Granted, the person could have scrolled down, but I go to the Daily Mail site fairly often to see some video on that page, but if I don’t see it right at the top or just one scroll down...I abandon the effort and leave the site, because I find myself getting exasperated because I cannot find it, and...who needs that?
It may be true, but it doesn’t make him innocent of murder. People do insane things out of fear all the time. They always hide evidence out of fear.
Panicking by running away, leaving the victim and scene is at least somewhat excusable but when panic turns to a cold calculating atrocity by grabbing the victim and then kidnapping and murdering her is not excusable or mitigating at all.
If he did more the DNA will probably tell the story.
Not this time, Yogi.
the only tip off to me, that the guy may be white, was he had those ridiculous ear stretchers in his lobes.
That’s usually a white idiot thing.
She looks worried but not injured yet. Poor girl, didn’t know what was coming but looks like she knew she was in a fix, just she had no way to know how bad and that it would be the end of her.
His cover story is delusionally lame as can be. If he panicked, it wasn’t because she was supposedly “run over” and feared the parents would be mad, but because he knew at the time what his intentions really were when he got her into the vehicle. So he took her elsewhere not to escape discovery or false accusations but because he thought it was the perfect opportunity to get away with gratify himself, and these sickos feed on the fear of their victims . He claims he was worried about the parents’ possible reaction to “a car accident” as if they somehow wouldn’t be more angry about a rape and murder of their daughter. Note wasn’t worried about his victim’s reactions— he doesn’t even recognize her as a human being, she was just an object to him.
The guilty flee when no man pursues.
Looks like I must be a subscriber to access DM now.
Hang him?
Good idea.
I’d like to see him turned into the yard for the general prison population
Was the killer BLACK???
He has those HUGE EARRINGS in the truck, but not in the mug shot.......hmmmmm.
Your post is worthless if you mention a photograph in the title but don’t post it. It would have been a better use of my time to click to the link to the source instead (which all who read this should make a note to do).
Pedos cannot be fixed except for a round to the back of the head.

She looks exactly like my niece Laura when she was her age. This story tears me up.
I have trouble posting pics. I used an old version of html sandbox. For the life of me i can’t get it to work. What do you guys use?
Eh. It didn’t even look like the same person, but...I am sure it was just the lighting and the angle!
I can’t stand those ear stretching things...the only thing I despise more are those snot catcher things that protrude from each nostril.
IR lighting for the camera for vision in dark conditions.
