‘We’re Entering A Constitutional Crisis In The US’: James O’Keefe Served Restraining Order While Live On Air

O'Keefe served restraining order for domestic violence by former Project Veritas board member.

Independent journalist and O’Keefe Media Group founder James O’Keefe was served a restraining order while he was filming a live show this week.

Footage shows a sheriff’s deputy walking into O’Keefe’s studio and presenting him a restraining order filed by former Project Veritas board member Matthew Tyrmand, accusing him of domestic violence.

“This is insane. There’s a sheriff in my studio serving me domestic violence documents because the board member said he wanted to murder me,” O’Keefe said.

“And I know you’re just doing your job and I get it,” O’Keefe told the officer, adding, “I understand, but we’re entering a constitutional crisis in the United States. And today I’ve got a police officer bringing me to court.”

Tyrmand was the subject of an OMG sting op last month where O’Keefe confronted him inside a restaurant asking why he’d made death threats towards him.

“Very unusual for a Judge to grant a temporary restraining order against a newsroom. I’ve had these filed before,” O’Keefe wrote on X, adding, “We stand by our reporting and will fight for the 1st amendment.”

Longer clip:

Here’s a copy of the restraining order:

A court hearing on the matter will be held on April 1st at 9:00 a.m. at the Lawson E. Thomas Courthouse Center in Miami, Fla.

It seems kind of stilted to me.

A domestic order from a man? Is O’Keefe gay?

It strikes me that the target of his ire had his little feelings hurt due to being pinned down by O’Keefe on video to address his threats.

What I read is that it’s an anti stalking order pending a hearing (the font was a bit small). “Lawfare,” just as he addresses in his posts.

But neither did I click on any links.

Common courtesy is to let the arrestee finish his vanity podcast before making an arrest?

This is the standard you’re trying to defend?

"Common courtsey (sic)"

This is one of the silliest things I have ever read on this website. You want an officer of the court to wait to serve someone papers until that person is done recording a livestream? That is hilarious.

Because that would be the polite, professional and civil way to do things.

I understand some people find those concepts beyond their intellectual grasp.

Yeah. Of course.

What doesn’t make sense is how one expects that for someone they agree with, and demands the opposite for someone they don’t.

Whatever you do, never actually ascertain what an article is about, just scan the headline and make a juvenile snide remark.

Good lord, relax. I was asking because I did not understand how a man can put a *domestic* restraining order against a man unless they were in a gay relationship. THAT is why I asked.

I read the article and I still don’t know.
Was the guy trying to out him, slander him, did some domestic judge issue an order illegally?

Just answer the question.

“This is one of the silliest things I have ever read on this website.”

And you are probably stupid enough to actually believe that.

Vanity podcast?

His podcast amounts to much more than your sniveling little vanity post on this site.

Piss off.

I mean, it’s April fools day. You can at least say that you were kidding when you said cops should wait to serve papers until the person getting served is done filming a video. It really is the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever seen.

“Domestic Violence?” Were they dating? Living together? What exactly is this guy alleging?

I think they worked together. The real issue is

hide behind a judge.

It will be interesting to see if Tyrmand’s self reports of friends in high places include anyone close to the Judge who signed the order. Did the Judge have any conversation with any persons at any time about this. Tyrmand seems dangerous.
