(TEXAS) - A Montgomery County man has been charged with a federal misdemeanor over allegations he shot and killed a bald eagle in 2024.
Santos Guerrero, 42, of Porter, was charged with one count of violating the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act.

There is no more habitat for eagles now then before; no more water ways nor more undeveloped land adjacent to those waterways. Eagles don’t care if the land is developed or not. They with nest and hunt where there are people.There was no hunting nor poisoning from the 60’s through to the 80’s and it was rare to sight any in those days.

Drive past Klamath Lake Oregon certain times of years and the bald eagles are out like starlings. Before the city stole my property I had a pair making a nest in one of my ponderosa trees. It was great to have them but what a crap position that would have put me in. They nest, I lose the property to protect them. I scare them away and I’m busted for harassing the birds. Heck, If I picked up their feathers I would be arrested.
BUT... Since the city took the land through eminent domain, they bulldozed the entire property without a care in the world.
The decline in raptors was a direct result of hunting and loss of habitat.

your citing mentions Alaska, how does that effect the lower 48 particularly the east coast?
It doesn't. It was simply an example that reinforces the argument that it was the indiscriminate hunting and loss of habitat nation wide that led to the decline of raptors 75 years ago. It was not DDT that the environmental activists claimed.

You're categorically wrong! The hunting of all raptors was never considered illegal and enforceable until the passage of the Migratory Bird Treaty Act and the Endangered Species Act in 1973.
Since that date, the populations have steadily increased
But I digress, I asked you previously, what is the argument you are trying to make???
Specifically, are you denying that hunting prior to the Migratory Bird act of 1973 did not result in the declining population of raptors?
