Mrs. Eagle and I have been on 3 cruises. Every passrnger tips the baggage handlers $1 per bag. There is no shortage of baggage handlers and they are quick and friendly. Watch how fast TSA employees return to work once they hear their fellow employees are making hundreds of dollars per hour. It's been 20 years since we've been on a cruise so people may tip more than that now.

Occasionally a server or bartender will point out a regular who is a lousy tipper or doesn't tip at all in which case they don't get my best.
I know. Crazy talk, huh? Heh heh.
Elon said he’ll pay all TSA employees till the government gets its act together!
“It’s true that some people don’t tip while others tip more. “
Then why did you post that everyone tips $1.
I’m all for the airlines paying for security. And no Unions!
At least half of Freepers seem to think the TSA employees are on strike or otherwise refusing to come in to work. They are not.
Same situation as in Nov. 2025 when the wife and I flew out of Atlanta and came back to the U.S. 10 days later. TSA employees were working both times, and actually the wait times in the airport were not too bad.
No, TSA employees are not on strike.
Yes, they are working without currently receiving a pay check.
As far as Freepers who think it is no big deal not to get a paycheck, I will gladly pay you Tuesday for a ribeye steak today (so pony up guys and gals).
But the US 1924 Coolidge Dollar is equivalent to about $19.11 2026 USD.
So throw the agent a double sawbuck instead of a ragged Washington.
Is that $5.60 security fee eliminated during this budget impasse? No, of course not.
They’d be motivated to speed things up, too.
And yes, the TSA workers are eligible for unemployment benefits during this shutdown.
My idea would be to toss every Muzzie pork chop out of America and bar them from ever being able to enter America which is inhabited by normal human beings. Toss the muzzies and we won’t need TSA.
Once this nonsense is over, things can go back to usual crappy unfriendly service.
I think I've identified the problem right there.
I flew three times in 6 days last week and the longest wait going thru TSA was 10 minutes. Tops.
It happened. I fly a lot domestic and international. You apparently don’t and do not know that each of the TSA agents in the various airports have their own vagaries besides the fed gov rules.
Tipping per person merely rewards numbers, which in security setting isn’t good. You can go even further by tipping per knife found, banned substance, illegal activity etc.
why aren’t they considered “essential” employees?
If they were, they would be getting paid, right?
Ok. So it’s not really happening. Thank you for the insight. It’s okay everybody. You can relax. MotorCityBuck flew 3 times last week and has declared there is Nothing to see here. Move along.
TSA is made up of power hungry lefties who get a kick out of searching purses and seeing X-rays. Lazy and not good at most anything else. Low IQ’s as well
I remember after 911 having to fly Cincinnati (Covington, KY) to Denver and watching passengers ahead of me boarding. The government employees checking passengers had no interest in the 2 middle eastern 20 somethings with backpacks and selected a grandma and a cute teenage girl for extra security check. I knew right then and there they would rather have the bomb go off on the plane than in the terminal in proximity to them. Security was a joke. I still boarded and never took my eyes off the 2 suspects the whole flight.
I already paid with my taxes, how about the Libs reason and start acting responsibly and like descent human beings.
