One of the many obnoxious characteristics of present-day liberal elitists that makes them so detestable is their deep superiority complex, their Sophomania, their delusional belief that they are intellectually---as well as morally---superior to everyone else, particularly conservatives whom they see as Neanderthals. They truly believe they have a monopoly on intelligence and morality.

This smug Sopjomania of theirs, combined with their self-righteous stance, is something that they bounce back and forth as they view with contempt the rest of the country, particularly the working class. When working class-Americans “dare to complain about the southern border or about jobs getting shipped overseas, what do they get called? They get called racists, they get called bigots, xenophobes, or idiots.”
The leftist writer, Christopher Lasch, wrote that liberals see the rest of the public as “hopelessly shabby, unfashionable, and provincial.” And in their way. Yes, the people are standing in the way of progress, liberals being certain of the lack of “capacity of ordinary citizens to grasp issues.”
Back in the 1930s and 1940s, the complete opposite was the case. The common man was seen as the salt of the earth, imbued with kindness, friendship, loyalty, common sense. Frank Capra films illustrated this populist philosophy.

OMG, Christopher Lasch was certainly not a leftist after his college years—he matured and abandoned marxist thought just as Thomas Sowell did. Lasch became a noted critic of liberal trends. He supported the traditional family as the best format for a free society, and was the one who coined the term “culture of narcissism” to characterize post-WW2 American society in the prior century—and did it almost fifty years ago. People are mortal. We all need and want some kind of belief in an afterlife. With the decline of Christian beliefs Islam has rushed in to fill that void with the usual predictable and horrible results .
What is the solution? Perhaps a new religion centered on reason itself that still offers that afterlife . Having reason at the center of it all would not have been possible in our previous history but now that reason has proven itself to be very useful and effective perhaps this new way of thinking is possible.

Leftists: Indulge society’s “Children” with low/no expectations; extended childhoods; endless “entitlement” to the necessities of life; drug use and crime with low consequences; etc. The resulting degradation and dependency reinforce the elites’ perception of their own superiority and provide justification for their desire to rule over the others.
Conservatives: Members of society deseve “tough love,” upholding standards and refusing to subsidise failure/ shortcomings, eventually enabling most of humanity either to be responsible adults or at least behave as if they were. This affirms individuals’ humanity and maximizes independence in a relatively free society. No need for elites to run their lives.

What is happening to Iran is historic. Never before has an Islamic country had a revolt against Islam itself. The only time Islam has lost territory has been when outside forces have been victorious. This could be the war that eventually burns down the whole merciless Islamic Colonization Mafia. Are we witnessing the beginning of the end of this cancerous 14 century long plague of ruthless evil ?
