People are mortal. We all need and want some kind of belief in an afterlife. With the decline of Christian beliefs Islam has rushed in to fill that void with the usual predictable and horrible results .
What is the solution? Perhaps a new religion centered on reason itself that still offers that afterlife . Having reason at the center of it all would not have been possible in our previous history but now that reason has proven itself to be very useful and effective perhaps this new way of thinking is possible.
The beginning of the new Dark Age.
