A new study published in Scientific Reports suggests that the connection between a young adult’s cognitive ability and their future socioeconomic status is largely driven by their genes. The findings provide evidence that genetic factors play a larger role in educational and occupational success than environmental conditions. This underlying biology may help explain why some social interventions aimed at reducing inequality tend to fall short over the long term.

But they sure tell you a lot about populations.

i worked most of my career with a group of VERY VERY smart people, and every once in while a couple would get married and produce mind-blowingly intelligent offspring ...
I don’t know. I saw a definitive study where they took a poor black hoodlum and a rich white educated man and flipped their positions.
The poor black man succeeded in the white man’s position but the white man struggled with being in the poor black man’s position in life.
Fortunately it worked out well for both in the end.

People often ask, why are Jews hated in so many places?
It’s mostly envy due to the disproportionate success they achieve in so many areas - business, government, sciences, etc. And that is mostly due to their higher average IQ.
The Ashkenazi’s average IQ is around 115.
Some of it also stems from the fact that many intentionally publicly identify as Jews, thus making them easier to target as a group.
Indians from India are starting to experience similar things. Many Indian have achieved significant success in business and government, with some heading many of the leading corporations. Also quite a few are getting high government position. And it’s for the same reason - higher IQ. Most of these immigrants come from the higher castes of India (Brahmins), and their IQ is similar to that of the Askenazi Jews, even though, the average IQ in India is around 80.
And whites faced (and are facing) the same problems in Zimbabwe and S. Africa for the same reason. (And it’s starting to show up in this country as well).
oh definitely. You throw trillions of dollars at gaps, trying to close gaps and you don’t close a single one. You begin to wonder…

We have a lot of engineers in our line and since my mother was adopted we didn’t find out some of this until we found her biological family. We have computer, civil, mechanical engineers and my cousin is Doug Bergum, now the Secretary of the Interior. It was amazing to realize the similarity between two groups of the same family that had been separated.
Ethics is a driving force, too. Let’s not blame everything on the outside.
Every person should be judged as an individual
The Bell curve has a low and a high.
The ugly side of high IQ is millions of people had to be killed to get there. Evolution is a two step process: something gets selected for, and something else gets voted off the island. The Holocaust resulted in a measurable IQ boost in the surviving Jewish population. The Einstein types tend to get away. It was the largest increase in group IQ the last century. The Jews have been on the receiving end of kinetic envy for thousands of years. Now the surviving Jews are among the smartest killers on Earth. In the Middle East, tribal warfare has evolved into a sport. There are people in Israel that have come to secretly enjoy the win. Like a sport hunter managing game numbers, military leaders sometimes pull back out of a sense of sport.
I think i saw that definitive study. Wasn’t it called Trading Places? :-P
As a famous person once said... “Two groups of people whose members are easily identifiable as belonging to one or the other group, and whose AVERAGE group IQ is significantly different, will never be able to peacefully coexist together”
The reason is fairly obvious if one stops and thinks about it for a minute.
