When it comes to the queer bar in the wild, so many threats exist, and it's only gotten worse in the past few years. Higher upfront costs combined with lower foot traffic have caused a nationwide problem for the service and food industries, which is exacerbated in queer spaces, which deal with smaller demographics than the average bar or restaurant. And of course, there’s the fact that many people, especially younger people, just don’t go out or have a third space anymore.

It never occurs to them people may not want to continue with the sin or that it was a fad and people see it for what it is and human nature is correcting themselves.
Nope it can only be threats.
History has always had homosexuality as a deviancy, it has only been viewed as slightly more or less deviant, never fully normalized. Even where it was practiced more it was not openly common, especially among the working class, at most it was the perverse practice of the elite.

A conservative investigative reporter and blogger once went undercover into some queer bars and struck up conversations with some of the patrons, asking how old they were when they had their first sexual experience with men, and how young some of their partners were. The answers were horrific, and would have been an instant prison sentence on a witness stand. A lot of them confided that they wished they were not gay.
I’m not an expert on this but I’d imagine the internet makes it a lot easier for gays to find other gays to have random sex with. You don’t need to go to a cruising bar for that sorta thing anymore
