In the movie Tombstone, after the famous shootout at the OK Corral, bad-guy Johnny Ringo went looking for Wyatt Earp. Ringo was going to kill him. Instead, Val Kilmer, playing the part of Doc Holliday and friend of Wyatt, met Ringo and delivered the movie’s most famous line: “I’m your huckleberry.” The phrase “I’m you huckleberry” was 19th-century slang for “I’m the guy you’re looking for,” “I’m your man,” or “Bring it on.” It was a macho, braggadocious expression used when confronting an adversary.
Macon, Georgia has lots of huckleberries. That’s unfortunate, because when two huckleberries meet, bad things usually happen. That’s exactly what occurred last week in the hoods of Macon. Over several days’ time, there were eight, maybe nine, shootings that left five dead and another nine injured.
The shootouts in and around Macon’s OK Corral (the Unionville neighborhood) began Saturday, Feb 21, at 12:30 A.M. (one man shot). Then Shaviz Adams was shot and killed at 6:58 P.M., and at 7:24 P.M., another man was shot. The day ended with three people shot at 11:59 P.M.; one victim was only seven years old.
Sunday picked up where Saturday left off. At 1:29 A.M., a seventeen-year-old male was shot and injured. Then the serious huckleberries came out at 3:35 A.M., on Moseley Ave, and three men were blasted into eternity. That was followed by a 6:30 A.M. shooting that left two more wounded. The weekend’s final shooting victim was a 55-year-old woman, shot at 2:37 P.M.
However, the huckleberries weren’t finished. On Wednesday, in south Macon, a 45-year-old man was shot and killed. If you’re counting, that’s five dead and nine wounded in nine separate shootings, all in a city of 155,000.
Fortunately, the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) does good work apprehending the perps.

There’s a nice old black PhD at my gym, who nonetheless shuts down and wins any conversation about any random topic with exactly the phrase:

Sowell’s theory is quite a stretch.I've listened to Dr. Sowell's essays about this on YouTube.
He makes a logical, compelling case.

It’s been this way for decades with them. I grew up in NYC in the 70s and 80s and they were always the trouble-makers in the classroom, talking back to teachers, starting fights, acting wild on the bus, etc. Moved to the west coast and saw the same behavior.
Sub-Sahara Africa has no “crackers” or any “redneck” Scots-Irish culture aka “poor Southern Whites” to blame. Sowell’s theory is quite a stretch.It's precisely Sowell's point that African slaves did not bring but adopted here the marginal white redneck culture that black ghetto culture yet embraces.

I’m on a long term (100 year?) project to fix the problem of excess black violence.
Literally a year ago, discussions like these were shouted down by FReepers(!) who would call you racist for noticing excess black violence.
But for the last year, I’ve been repeatedly making the point that the problem cannot be solved if we cannot discuss it.
I’m (we are all) winning.
We are now initially in public frankly discussing the problem, potential solutions, and nobody has yet cried “Racist!”
That’s the first step.
Next, we proffer a wide variety of potential solutions.
Eventually, some brave politician uses our ideas to put forth legislation that aims to solve some root cause (welfare), or ameliorate some effect (longer more sure prison terms). Right now, even Republicans have NO public program for solving the problem because they will be called “racist!” by some kind hearted complete idiot who keeps us from actually solving the problem.
So we’re finally on our way, here in this little corner of the internet.
Taking useful precautions in the meantime is completely understandable.
But hold out hope, and work the long game for your grandchildren: Excess Black Violence is a solvable problem for them and us. Let’s keep on that program too while we stay safe.

1. “Thug” - The original Thugs were assassins in India who strangled and robbed victims in the first half of the 19th Century. Today it describes behavior. Sadly, some folk think of it as a badge of honor. A whole genre of music glorifies “thug culture.”
2. The sage of the age, Tom Sowell’s book, “Black Hillbillies and White Liberals” is a must-read for anyone hoping to understand the roots of this violent and cruel lifestyle. It is not inherently “black” as Dr. Sowell so eloquently explains.
That's exactly what I was thinking. But not just shooters, other crimes as well.
So, Africa is a high IQ Wakanda paradise then? No violence, theft, murder, or rape there? Somalis only recently arrived in the USA, mostly in Northern States.
What is their excuse?
When welfare became an option, there a was reason many black women, and some white, preferred it to a husband - because their husbands were bad men, abusive and unfaithful.
If welfare class black women were incentivized to hold onto a man, would that man be a boon to the family or a harm?
How do you take these men socialized to violence and promiscuity and selfishness and turn them into fathers?
How do you make a nuclear family when a woman’s children have two or more fathers?
It might make more sense to incentivize the welfare class not to have children.
